Happy New Year from Openline and U2

U2 New Year's Day

As everyone returns from long vacations and before we get rolling full speed into 2007, we want to give ya'all the opportunity to express some new year resolutions. For yourself, for Tom Weisner, for Aurora, for the school district, for the cronies, for whatever.

Here's our Top 3:

3. Introduce cool stuff
2. Shake-up the old-guard
1. Have fun with the fishwrap

Yeah, Openline you alive!

Kicken!

2007 is going to be a great year!

Here's what Tom Weisner's resolution is this year:

1. Try to keep rubber-stamp alderman on the city council.

2. Find ways to waste more taxdollars.

3. Exchange more campaign contributions for favors.

Happy New Year to everyone!

My resolution:

Kick out the aldermen on the Aurora City Council who have supported Weisner's irresponsible tax increases and policies!

Openline does it again by picking the perfect song to go with the day. Nice!

Tom Weisner's resolution is this year:

4. Take Juany Garza and Linda Blago-LaVia to Mexico for a cultural exchange or sister cities or whatever

Taxpayers pay of course...

uh oh.... some city folks r gonna be upset that openline is stil, well, open!! Go openline and lets move towards transparent government!!

Nice!

I feel sorry for Tom Weisner. Pretty soon Aurora will have no big parcels of land to develop and, hence, no big campaign contributions from developers. He will have to resort to the old-guard like Deuchler, Wegman, Mundy, Cordogan and Old Second Bank.

Welcome back guys. We missed ya. Did it take you long enough.

Happy New Year to all the bloggers as well...The good,The bad, and yes, even The ugly.

Welcome back. Does anyone know about the drug bust the Aurora Police Department is doing? Maybe they might want to keep it from everyone but I don't think so. This last Sunday in the am they did one on the West side. I also think they did one on the East side the week of Christmas. Good for them. This is something that we need to know. Does the Beacon even know? As for their 10 Top Stories of the year lets get some that mean something. As for D131 lets have some accountabblty. Why did they have to paint those offices in School Center so fast. It's time to Rock the Boat.

Welcome back! you rock my resolution? buy back the drive in property (because as you noticed the market has failed) and put the drive inn back up, who's with me (eat s and d bigelow)

A word about ward committees; instead of them becoming more effective, they have become a place for griping and venting. We have Openlineblog site for that.

Those of you who are not presently involved with your ward committee should call your alderman and ask to become a member.

Your voice should be heard and your alderman should be responsive. Help make decisions for your area and be an instrument of change.

If you are unhappy with your alderman, all the more reason to join the committee.

DO IT.

Did anyone bet that the first baby born would be another illegal?
I did and won!

Anonymous said...

no you (and all the taxpayers who pay for that blankety-blank baby) lost. If you cant feed em pedro, dont breed em!

The child that was born (if the parents where illegal) is now a citizen. His parents might be illegal but the child is a citizen. If you don't like it start writing your representatives in Washington and compain.

Here's a New Year's resolution for those of us in District 131:

REPLACE THE SCHOOL BOARD FROM HELL!

And keep insisting on accountability and clear explanations from those who supposedly "work for us". Then maybe we'll be willing to give YOU the $upport you ask us for!

16,000 illegal children have been added to the list for free health care in Illinois and when I became 65 and signed up for medicare, my HMO dumped me.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know what went on at the United Way? I have heard very little.

ANON 1/1 5:41 P.M. Too late, two of the irresponsible taxing "buddies" of Weisner are running unopposed. It appears people like to keep the taxes going up by keeping Saville & Beykirch in office for 4 more years. Too much talk, not enough action. Very disappointing.

Anonymous said...

what washington do something, how about taking away the bs law that says if you manage to break the law and come to this country to give birth its not legal. Hey mexis you think white people dont know that you are breeding like rabbits without the ability to either raise and pay for all the children. You are bad people for having children to use as a political tool to stay in a country where you are both un-welcome and unwanted shame on you all for doing something so horriable. and we will be left with dealing with the uneducated criminals and unwanted children you produce.

Nice to see this blog has deteriorated into racist rants.

Anonymous said...

it's not racist to not want to have your coutry taken over by people who you have to foot the bill for f you!

Anonymous said...

Diversity is what makes Aurora unique vibrant.

Anonymous said...

all the illegals should go back to wherever they come from

Anonymous said...

Diversity is fine my grandparents were from holland, come here legaly.pay your bills and taxes and learn the only language of america. And stop flying the mexican flag and saying you love mexico if thats the case then go there and stay there if you come here to work and send the money home then you are a theif!

Anonymous said...

2:57pm yep, but schuler and peters are being oppossed by very strong candidates mind you. Its like a house of cards, eventually they all will fall.

Anonymous said...

If you are so against illegals then write the people that let this happen. Vote them out of office. Call or write Blago and say we are not going to take this anymore when we can give medical insurance to illegals and we cann't even have our senior citzens the right to live the rest of their lives without having to decide to get their meds or eat. That new medicare prescription drug plan is crap. Let him know that as long as he lets some cities but homes and let five families live in there with all their children and overcrowd our schools systems we are not going to keep giving them money to let this go on.

Anonymous said...

You know I know this school board is crap but look at the money they have to work with. Our property taxes are low. Get the city to give back some of the revenue from the casinos. Then if you can try to work a budget with the money they have and make this all work. The Illinois School Board gives them the right to act this way. So we need to clean up all their acts. Then if you still aren't happy move to a town that you will have to pay high taxes and put up with the same crap. Many districts are going through the same stuff we are but they are throwing away more of their money.

Racism, in any form, is ugly. Those who spew such hatred and pretend it isn't racism are beneath contempt.

Anonymous said...

Racism is unjust hate. From what I've read here this is not racism but simple facts. Yes, it is primarily the hispanics that's a cancer to our society and gives very litle back in return. What other country would provide TV programs, radio stations, newspapers, mexican food, spanish speaking school teachers, free medical, etc, etc. That's the long and short of it. Facts are facts. They have it made and they know and when people speak up about it, they play the race card. Gimme a break!

Anonymous said...

Yea, what he/she said. They want to live here for all the benefits and send their money back to Mexico. And then they don't even buy domestic products.
Excuse me while I go pick up the empty Tecate and Corona beer cans out of my front yard.

Anonymous said...

Hey 8:27pm....they don't have time to learn English or find a job...they're too busy making babies.

Give them a break!

Happy New Year - let our comments get back on track here - I resolve to engage in publc service and help my fellow man.

Anonymous said...

I resolve to get my kid the education he deserves and that we pay for. I resolve to not support anymore referendums whether they are for the schools, city, county, and especially the forest preserves (which now use open space as a way to sucker us out of more tax dollars). I resolve to help my fellow americans in getting everything that all of us have worked so hard to get and give. I resolve to stand up and be heard and no longer let the minority rule the majority.

It has been scientifically proven that if we drink 1 quart of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 2 pounds of Escherichia coli bacteria found in feces, in other words, we are consuming 2 pounds of poop!
However, we do not run that risk when drinking wine (or rum, whiskey, vodka, beer or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermenting.

It is better to drink wine and talk shit than to drink water and be full of shit. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I am doing this as a public service.

First and foremost, let us not label the babies born here! It is the parents doing, not the innocent new borns. Yes, something needs to be done about what is going on. As far as the ones running who are unopposed, if you are in their ward, don't vote for them. They will only win because they are unopposed. I agree, they need to go, bt if their ward does not care and no one wants to step up to the plate, what is one supposed to do?
Now back to what this post is about, let us all get back on subject.
I am working on D131. The fishwrap is also on my list and as far as this City goes, Weisner is first on list and the other mayor Vaughn, well need to say anything more?
Let us all work together!

Nice comment 10:01pm. We should figure out how to resolve issues.

Saw this on the City of Aurora Website. Did the Beacon cover this story? Don't you think they should have?
Aurora Special Census Underway
Workers from the United States Census Bureau are currently going door-to-door on Aurora’s east side to collect population data. The special census, which is expected to run through January 2007, is estimated to bring the city an additional $650,000.

This special census allows Aurora to measure and receive federal and state funding for the number of new people currently residing in high growth areas of the city. Census workers will be canvassing a number of neighborhoods on Aurora’s east side.

Census workers conduct interviews seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The survey typically takes seven minutes to complete and asks basic questions such as name, sex, date of birth and race, plus general questions about the household. Individual and specific household details will be kept confidential.

Census workers can be easily identified by their red, white and blue official U.S. Census Bureau badges. The city encourages every resident’s cooperation and participation to ensure the accuracy of the special census. For more information, please contact Christiana Pascavage at (630) 844-3460.

Location: Aurora, IL

8:27p. Justify it all you want, you're still a bigot. Happy New Year, or Feliz Ano Nuevo.

Anonymous said...

You know what 10:05am that is not going to work anymore. Calling people racist, bigots, etc. I think society has had enough and are speaking out and will no longer allow people such as yourself to call us derogatory names when they fight for what they believe in.

Anonymous said...

10:05a is an ostrich.

Anonymous said...

sounds like the racists/bigots have thin skins.

Anonymous said...

The special census is only in the Far East side where the houses are being built. It really doesn't affect the rest of the City.

1/2/07 10:47pm

Holy E-Coli! I didn't realize that about drinking water! It's even worse in Aurora because we had that big water crisis where some department head went AWOL from the stress (then he got elected mayor and blamed the water crisis on a goose as strange as that sounds).

My girlfriend always says to drink water, but now I'm going to stock up on some red wine :)

Thanks for the public service!

Anonymous said...

I resolve to attend more city council meetings this year and wear my "Tom Weisner is Mayor...Don't Drink the Water!" t-shirt.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 12:03 for the info. I don't live on the east side so what homes are being built. I thought the east side was getting overcrowded?

Anonymous said...

I live on the East Side and the census taker was at my home. I thought it was for all of Aurora, but I do live by HomeTown and there is more houses going up there. Had no problem doing this and hope everyone else does it that is asked. Mine was donw before Thanksgiving.

They are just doing a small area along the dupage/kane county line. From up north to down by hometown.

For 2007 I resolve to shoot down any UFO's that look like they are from Holland

Well not so much of rasist bashing..its about respect. I wouldn't want to go to a country that I don't know the language. And I would not expect them to conform to mine. As in that point as well I have been to Mexico and I for one can tell you ... there are more people there who speak English there..than there are in Aurora,Illinois.
