Ground Zero Aurora
4 minutes, 20 seconds
Thanks to everyone for expressing articulate, peaceful and passionate views on the Planned Parenthood controversy in Aurora, Illinois. We hope the video provides perspective on what we have all experienced so far.
The controversy continues and "ground zero" will shift to Aurora's City Hall on Tuesday before likely heading to court, so stay tuned....
>Also see Monday's story by Amy Boerema of the Daily Herald on how both sides of the issue recognize the significance of the controversy in Aurora on the national debate and the impact locally. Both sides also agree the City of Aurora hasn't handled the situation well.
Note: Scroll down to the right side of the blog and check out our polls on where you stand on the moral and legal status of abortion and the issue of parental notification.

That was awesome!
It does not matter where anyone stands on this issue, this was FANTASTIC! It sent shivers through me.
Wow, that was really incredible no matter which side you are on or if you've just been observing this whole story.
Nice!
That video hit whole story perfectly.
That gave me shivers, too! I am going to forward the link to this to my friends and family everywhere. Everyone who has heard about this story needs to see this!
Again a stellar job by OLB!
You can never go wrong with a U2 soundtrak. Nice Job. This is where electronic blows the mundane newsprint out of the water!
Rock on!!!!Weisner rot in..........
Great combo of creativity and technology and it hit the bullseye of this story. OLB rocks!
I'm forwarding this to everyone I know.
It's really been an amazing story and the video does a great and creative job of telling it.
No wonder the local Aurora newspaper is anxious to get this story over with. It's obvious they can't compete with Chicago area media covering the same story.
And they are insanely jealous of the blogosphere, which has completely soared past them.
Great job, Openline.
I'll be forwarding the link to U2s record company, as well as Universal Music Publishing.
Can't use it with out paying for it.
Tell me what openline owes
I guess we'll see.
I have a nice screen capture of the last comment I'll forward as well.
Should they send the bill to the Aldermen's office?
I find it interesting that you use a tune from a pro-choice musican to score your video with.
Whatever, just the american way. Someone does something creative and the cry babies go tell. Whaaaaaa; go tell your mommy. Go back to Weisner and say "I'm gonna get them, Tommy boy, cuz they're bad. They did a small musical piece on the blog. That blog is bad but you are so great, Tommy boy. You've brought great things to Aurora. You've brought a wi-fi that doesn't work, you've brought in more Hometown homes, you've made a pit of water by the river full of contaminantes, you've started to bankrupt the city, and you've sucessfully rewarded all your campaign contributors. Yep, that blog is bad"
Columbus Day, everyone!!! Too many teenagers home, bored out of their minds, blogging away! Message to you...what comes around goes around!!!
Video was great!!! Loved it!

It was an unbiased video! What's your problem!
Off point but lets do something for the GAR Building in Aurora and vote for it so it may get a grant to help fix it up. There might be something else there that you might think is worth a grant. So why don't us bloggers go help something else.

Maybe since openline is so civic minded they could do a post on the GAR building to get people to vote.
Sorry, had to vote for the Viking Ship. Thanks for letting me know though.
1:20p...started drinking a little early today, eh?
It falls under fair use No one is making a time from that video so no one will sue. Even if they did they would have to show sometype of Damages. Since none exist it is a moot point.
It would be great PR though so I encourage the billionaire record company and U2 to sue. SInce it will get thrown out of court so fast I am sure OLB would love the free pub.
It would only serve to up the viewership of this blog something I am sure all of you anti-aurora pro weinerboy, pro baby killing would love.
lol
I am totally pro-baby killing. I don't know why you wouldn't be. It is possibly the easiest thing on the planet to accomplish.
first, that was an incredibly well-done video and deserves an Emmy Award. It showed the story well, both sides were well represented, the city gov't process, the public's participation and the broad media (old and new) coverage. It even showed Weisner and Weingartz in their roles for the people of Aurora to see.
seems to me the only people that would complain about this are the jealous malcontents at the local fishwrap (Beconfused). The video is a commentary on news events. I wish the fishwrap staff spent half as much time trying to do their job instead of taking cheap shots at this blog, the Daily Herald and their allergic reaction to all the media in town. Seems like the Beacon isn't the big dog after all and they truly have shown how irrelevant they are.
I am going to start subscribing to the Daily Herald. They are doing a much better job of reporting what is going on in Aurora with ONE reporter than the entire Beconfused staff combined.
Great video and it's too bad there are some "negativists" from the fishwrap who are jealous and an inferiority complex.
To 11:10am, U2 isn't pro-choice as far as I know and they are quite spiritual, but why does it matter for the song? It's a song about people being different or being together as one. The video shows both sides very well.
8:16
I am do glad you 'pro choicers' finally just admit it.
It is a breath of fresh air.
Now where do you live so I can perform a citizen's arrest for murder?
to 1:03 am
U2 is spiritual, and pro choice.
Google it.
What a bunch of dorks.
U2 is neutral on the subject, but it doesn't really matter. It's a great song and a great video.
no, they're not. at the end of the day Bono is pro-choice and for gay rights (of some sort).
stances make the average right-wing christian cringe.
Sounds like guys at the Beacon are upset because the Blog doesn't use their poor reporting any more. Nobody reads their blog. Maybe you should have the interns at openline help you.
Well, if I was with the BN, I would. I'm just having fun with the dozen or so of you that are trying hard to kick up some dirt.
Did I say dozen? I meant 5.
This is a clever little montage of events over the past two months or so. It was interesting.
However, the killing of innocent babies and the physical, emotional and spiritual scarring of women from abortion by the evil behemoth of Planned Parenthood is NOT a rock video. The opening of this, the largest ever abortion killing center in the peaceful city of Aurora is an atrocity.
So let's please not look at it as some kind of "cool" event. Babies are being killed. Young girls are being forced into having their little babies aborted. I witnessed a teenage girl, maybe 15 years old, leaving that place recently. Who knows how she became pregnant, and who forced her into having the abortion. She left with two older men, who appeared to be in their 60's.
This is not about some rock group and a bunch of photos in a little slide show. This is about crimes against humanity.
Awesome video. OLB has great writing and great creativity.
