Last time, the Illinois State Senate race between Terri Ann Wintermute and Linda Holmes was close and a narrow win for Holmes with help by Chicago Democrats like Emil Jones with over a half-million dollars.
Now, the rematch and Wintermute is making a big push to win the seat as Holmes has moved her main focus from Aurora to Plainfield.
Holmes has been supportive of Emil Jones. Is that going to cost her?
Will this be the closest election in the Aurora area this November?

No one is going to rally behind Holmes this time! She has proven to be self serving, not contituent serving. Wintermute is a much better choice.
The wheels have fallen off the Holmes bandwagon-her neighborhood can't stand her, her Chicago powerbase is retiring, Weisner has his own problems-Sorry Linda, it's time to stand on your own, and you don't have much to prop you up!! Go Wintermute!!

I would like to know why Weisner's campaign manager is on Linda Holmes campaign stuff. That's just too weird. Is he working for Weisner or Holmes? Whose paying him? Is he on Holmes D2? I didn't think I saw his name.
Holmes is too close with Weisner; we don't need more pay to play politics in Springfield.
Who cares? If Wintermute wins, you will all be calling her a no good crook within a years time.

I'm surprised that Jones and his machine is even spending money on her campaign, given the fact that she has voted her own mind and told him "no" on several occasions. Check her record.
Please vote all the corrupt incumbents out including her. The only local politician who has been in the state legislature watching our money is Chris Lauzen. Can we get him to run for Govenor or Mayor to help clean up the corruption? Vote out Foster while you are at it, he played with our tax dollars, $700 million to be exact, to kiss up to Pelosi with no preconditions or oversight on the first bailout bill. Get him out quick. The calls were coming into the Capital switchboard 300 to 1 to vote NO, to the "ripoff the taxpayers scheme" that was presented. If he cannot do what the taxpayers sent him to D.C for, which is represent us, get rid of him quick, so the next politician will know we mean business. Please do not give him a pass on this nor Holmes who has been playing games with Blago and Jones. To top it all off she and Foster have been bragging about being endorsed by Planned Parenthood, (the organization that snuck into our city after playing pay to play with campaign contributions to the Mayor funneled through Democratic party cronys, trampled on zoning and public hearing ordinances).

Pay to play money funnelling in to Holmes account!

Incumbants or challengers, it doesn't make any difference who's in office. They are all a bunch of friggin vultures trying to muscle their way in for there share of meat. (taxpaper money and perks)
The Beacon had a column with some questions for the two candidates from this race. Holmes answered simply and with some legitimate clarity. Wintermute came back with a Master's thesis. She's what we DON'T need in office.

You're absolutely correct. They are what you call a wolf in sheep's clothing. They tell us suckers what we want to hear so they get their ass voted in office and then it's a big laugh in your face. Why else would these politicians spend millions campaigning. It's all the perks and boondoggles and financial lifetime security for them, their spouse and kids for the rest of their lives. Most of them should be imprisoned for treason against the American people for not living up to their campaign promises.
Senator Cullerton has dumped $100,000.00 into Holmes campaign. The same Cullerton who admitted on camera that the dems were going to raise the state income tax by 1% in January and the same Senator who is seeking to replace Emil Jones. We cannot afford another term of her fiscal irresponsibility.
Who cares about her fiscal issues; she is just a mean person. I have talked to her and she is rude and really likes to talk about herself. I thought Linda Holmes was nice last time; but now she's so snobby!!
Holmes is a self serving, dishonest opportunist who doesn't care about her constituents at all. ANYONE would be a better choice!
I keep hearing that Linda Holmes is in the process of leaving her longtime husband due to a multi-year affair with a lobbyist. Supposedly, she votes his way on issues nearly every time and this is the worst kept secret in Springfield.
And yet I don't see it any of the papers and I don't see the Republican candidate talking about it.
How can I confirm any of this? If it's true, I'm a little bothered about the morals of the situation, not to mention the "ick" factor of aligning with any lobbyist in any way.
