Books | Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln By Doris Kearns Goodwin

Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln

With President Barack Obama's selection of opponents such as Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State, Joe Biden for Vice President and others, much was made about Doris Kearns Goodwin's book "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" which Obama has read and spoke to Goodwin about.

Will Obama's strategy of surrounding himself with opponents work or will it backfire in some cases when they act in their own best interest?

If you haven't read the book - do. It's excellent, and Ms. Goodwin has the knack for making history an interesting and entertaining read.

she's a plagiarist. the book offers nothing new to anyone who has done minimal reading about the civil war.

This is real change we can beleive in. Only the name has changed from Clinton to Obama. All the other players are the same as 8 years ago.
