Monica Silva is the best choice for trustee!

Why do some like Bill Catching, Penny Falcon and Archie Needham keep running and losing?

Anonymous said...

What happened last night during the Democrat Caucus?

Anonymous said...

At least Jim Murphy isn't running again.

I hope by David Luna you do not mean the mentally unbalanced guy who taught some made up Kung-fu in downtown aurora a few years ago.

Well, it turns out that Annie Craig and her husband are poor sports and bad loosers... she did not make the cut for super. and pitched a 5 year old fit and screamed law suit... Go figure, supporters of Mayor Weiner and looser Laesch show their true colors yet again. Everyone else was well behaved like true adults but these two and their supporters made kindergartners look like matur adults.

Do we really want Christina Campos, John Shoemaker and Monica Silva re-elected?

They raised our taxes.

Anonymous said...

No, the Township Acessor raised your taxes

Anonymous said...

NO, THE TRUSTEES VOTE TO RAISE MY TAXES.

NO MORE TAXES!

Anonymous said...

Juan Thomas does not believe in following the rule of law.

Anonymous said...

Is John Shoemaker Arlene Shoemaker's husband?

Anonymous said...

iudiots, the accessor raises the taxes the trustees aprove it. the reason your taxes are REALLY higher are because u idiots voted for a school referendum, voted the drug bag Weisner into office and continue to support an out-of-control GOP County Board that has done NOTHING but raise taxes, spend beyond its means and vote elected officials pay raises.

Anonymous said...

John Shoemaker is her son... a left wing liberal, like his mom, and tied to the hip of the uberliberal Laesch. Nice people, but out of touch politically and with the needs of Aurorans.

Anonymous said...

Morons, The assessor assesses the value of your home & Property. This may end up raising ro lowering your taxes based on the assessed values. However the percent you are taxed comes from the trustees & the supervisor. The trustees vote on it & the actual proposal can come from more than one place.

The real Questions is the legitimacy of the need to even have a township anymore, For that matter can we just dissolve the city of aurora & have all those services go to the county & the state as well?

We have way to much government.

Wouldn't it be nice if Alex Arroyo represented Aurora Township Democrats and not Aurora Township Hispanic Democrats?? What BS for supposed Leadership!!!

Looks like the un-democratic activities of Greviskes came back to bite him. At least we don't have to witness a McCoughnay endorsement of Greviskes.

For Gods sake can't you people field anyone more qalified than these slates? The same old pond scum keeps floating to the top every election cycle. I can see several and know several that are of dubious character and background. One cheated me out of some money years ago when he was in the restaurant business. Anothers personal life was so screwed up I wouldn't trust him with a nickle of mine....the other a constant runner and looser of elections. Another a "whats in it for me" person. And these are the best you can field? I highly recommend the disbanding of the township form of government to save all the citizens lots and lots of taxes with little pay back. Most of these people are loosers to begin with. Why give them a crack at more of your money. Didn't the rise of White Peter start with the township position? Look what a successful politicain he turned out to be. Think about it....close the township government now before times get any tougher.

Democrats Aurora Twp. caucus 'chaotic'

Aurora Township Democrats slated six candidates for April's election this week.
But those results are likely to be challenged by at least one candidate, in the wake of what many are calling a poorly organized, mess of a caucus.

Bring back Denny Wiggins. At least he was honest. Murphy promised to make supervisor position a part-time job. For his honesty, we made him a judge. Greviskes is a republican. How could he expect to be slated. Maybe the Dems should have had Karen McCoughanny preside over their caucus. Then Greviskes, Jones, and Neuberger would have got what they wanted.

I see the same angry people bitching about whatever is laid out in front of them from day to day...same crap, different day. Goodbye OLB forever

True, township trustees voted to increase the % of my taxes and the assessor assesses the value of my house. Is that an excuse for raising my taxes?

It is a big difference; people voted to raise taxes to help schools, not the School board. In the other hand, Township Trustees Ann Craig, Christina Campos, John Shoemaker and Monica Silva actually voted for the increase. It took only 4 votes. Big difference.

Thank you Davis for lowering my assessed valuation. Shame on you Kane County for raising it above the level Offutt had determined and also above the the level it was at before the township lowered. This is Jerry Jones at work, working for the county at large and not the citizens of aurora. I'm glad his buddy Greviskes lost. We don't need combine politics in aurora

Anonymous said...

Greviskes should move to Batavia where someone might actually vote for him.

Anonymous said...

Kane County can not change a township assessment

After about five run offs, the position for Township Supervisor remained a tie between Campos and Greviskes when Alex Arroyo took the gavel and said, "we need a Latino" and used his position to break the tie for Campos.

I think we could have a discrimination suit there.

I wonder why we had a caucus to begin with if only Latino's were eligible.

I would never vote Republican but now I can't vote Democratic either with this slate.

Anonymous said...

Annie Craig would have probably been elected except for her husband who got up at the mike and made an ass of himself.

Anonymous said...

Bigger Question: How can Dems allow ANYONE to vote AFTER the ballots have been secured and counted? OUTRAGEOUS

Anonymous said...

Simple answer, they are Democrats

Anonymous said...

My guess is this can be challenged. Alex Arroyo has needed to be gone for along time.

Anonymous said...

1/15/09 10:43 AM

There was one run off.

There was no gavel.

There is a sore looser- Craig.

There is one possible lawsuit with no merit.

There are a lot of folks that are pissed off because their ties with the Mayor no longer entitle them to chicken squat.

Read the comments here and the paper article. Alex Arroyo is not good for the Democratic party. I am aa Indepentant at this point and will not be voting for the Democratic candidate at this point. In fact, have not voted for anyone that Arroyo has endorsed for awhile. He(Arroyo)only knows a person when he wants a vote for someone and he also does not follow through with what he says he will do for the Democratic voters personally, such as information in help for health problems etc. In my case it took a Republican to get the information.

Let see raised taxes for the benefit of salaries of teachers who live outside of the 129 District. My children are all gone and I pay more now to the school district now and get less than when they weer there. Wait I received nothing then because I wass middle class. Ties with the Mayor, ties with this, ties with that, Let's just do away with all of those positions and save tax dollars.

I can not believe someone cited the Beacon News in a post and in a positive way no less. The paper, in regards to the Dem. Caucus, did not have the Chairman's view on the issues. It is easy to rush to judgement, this is Aurora after all.

The one think I heard from more than 30 people who attended the Caucus the other night for the first time was that they enjoyed themselves, really enjoyed the speaches and thought it was very educational; they all said they were excited about participating in the caucus next time.

So, what I get from all of this is a couple of spoiled loosers: Frank Craig, who is lazy and has promised, promised and promised to do things for his fellow Dems but NEVER follows through. Then we have Griviskis who, after loosing his primary bid for judge, turned his back on his party and backed the GOP candidate in the General Election. I find this repugnent and self-serving when he turns arround and comes back to the local party and expects them to support a TRAITOR!

All in all, what makes this EVEN more pathetic is that all the ones complaining helped draft and ALL approved the rules for the Caucus in a prior meeting of the party.

Now during these hard economic times is the time to get rid of this usless form of sub government.....lets see a move to eliminate it rather than vote to extend it.

Anonymous said...

So sorry Annie Craig... now you and your husband have to go get real jobs. Do you remember what a work ethic is, or has it been since the 1970's that you have had to actually work?

I want to know how the Aurora Election Commission gets to release to the Democratic party or anyone else how someone voted in a primary? How long has this been going on? How can the information about what ballot someone requests for a primary be publicly disclosed to a group of people in a meeting and reported in the newspaper? I have even more concerns about the corruption and pay-to-play politics in this city when a government organization, the Aurora Election Commission, gets to squeal on someone, so that person can be discussed at a public meeting and even releases this info to a newspaper, so this person can be punished by a political organization. Is this how both political parties or just the Democrats keep their party members in line? Does the Kane County Election Commission and others do the same thing and disclose what ballot a person asks for or possibly who a person votes for?

Anonymous said...

Regarding the question of 1/17 3:13. Voting history is a matter of public record. The public record indicates in which elections a particular individual voted and it indicates which ballot (primary election) was taken. Raising the possibility of who someone voted for being identified is a baseless fear

The 1/13/09 Aurora Township Democratic Primary process was a chaotic mess...it was poorly executed - the established rule that party affiliation could be affirmed by the signing of an affidavit was totally forgotten - and shrugged off in passing by Chairman Arroyo when asked about it during the proceedings - to be fair, in the subsequent conversation it was suggested that this provision may be superceded by the state election law establishing eligibility based upon primary election participation.

There is sufficient reason to suspect that people who were not eligible to vote were allowed to do so and people who were eliglbe to vote were denied that opportunity that a challenge by at least one of the losing candidates would be expected.

The Township Dems completely blew a great opportunity to put its best foot forward. It failed miserably - it was impossible to not overhear the grumblings of causcus goers as the night dragged on and the confusion grew more profound -or- to notice the steadily growing stream of caucus attendees leaving the event...

Terry Bermes said...

There are some shots being taken at Annie and Frank Craig that are just beyond the pale. I didn't support Annie at the caucus but certainly understand their reaction to the night's events.

Had the issue regarding the elibility of a single voter not come to light or had that issue been corrected on the first try, the subsequent chaos of the evening would not have ensued.

The eligibility issue ocurred in such a way that Craig was informed that she had lost; that it was a done deal. With this information, a goodly amount of Craig's supporters left the event.

It can certainly be argued that caucus goers take their chances when they leave before the caucus ends. I would also hope that all of the Supervisor candidates urged their supporters to participate in the entire event.

Still, people left the caucus because they were given inaccurate information. This caused irreparable harm to the Craig candidacy. Their feelings are quite understandable.

It isn't my intent to speak to the course of action chosen by Craig or the other two Supervisor candidates - how they proceed is up to them. It is my intent however, to challenge some of the more negative things being posted about the the Craig's on this site.

by the way - what's with all of the anonymous posting? doesn't this make it a tad easier to simply throw crap out there?

I, as a majority of one, am equally disgusted with both republicans and democrats. No matter who is in office, all we get is more taxes with fewer services and poorer results, and more rights taken away from us. It's We, the People who are sovereign in this country--not the people we elect to office--for, they work for US--not the other way around!

Both Showmaker and Campos raised our taxes two years ago.

Do you really want them elected?
