Election 2009 | Controversy Swirls Around Aurora Township Republican and Democrat Candidates and Caucus

Although different in nature, both Aurora Township Republican Chairman Bill Wyatt and Aurora Township Democrat Chairman Alex Arroyo, are both dealing with controversies swirling since the caucus held for each recently to determine a slate of candidates for the April 7, 2009 election for Aurora Township government elected office, ranging from Supervisor to Trustee.

Aurora Township Democrats had a controversial tie vote for the position of Supervisor, with Arroyo breaking a tie in favor of Christina Campos. Interim Aurora Township Supervisor and candidate Annie Craig has filed a formal objection, saying voters were not signed-in properly and those not eligible may have voted.

Craig is seeking a runoff election between Campos, Paul Griveskes and herself. The matter would likely be reviewed by township officials.

The caucus for Aurora Township Republicans reportedly was smooth and without any voting disputes, but one of the candidates that emerged to be on the slate for Trustee, has raised questions since for many township Republicans since.

David Luna, who teaches martial arts, has a past history with gangs and a murder allegation at the age of 20 that was later dropped (he was allegedly a passenger in a drive-by shooting). Some township precinct committeemen say that if this information had been known, he would not likely have received sufficient votes.

Luna, who was reportedly recruited by Wyatt's wife, Gabriella, says his life has changed and those issues are in the past. Some are asking that he step aside so another candidate can run instead.

Bill Wyatt says he will continue to support Luna because he believes he has turned his life around.

I agree with Wyatt that sometimes you have to reach out and yes, take a chance on someone. As Andre Salles pointed out he was not convicted of anything. Who is Michelle Whetstone, I've never heard of her.

Seems like my post two weeks ago came to point. Crooks all, vote them ALL OUT and end the croneyism in Aurora. The list of people on both sides are evidence of self serving slimebags in it only for their own profit.

With candidates like this Aurora is doomed to less than mediocraty forever.

I hope Luna is judged by facts and not allegations. The fact is that he has been very invoolved with at risk youth as a positive role model in Aurora. People can change!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Wyatt does not live in Aurora Township. Why is he the Chairman.

I thought he was not all that bright when he ran for Mayor. After watching his performance on the County Board and the Township, I found that I was right about him. Just another nut that is not qualified for anything else. It is really sad the level of people that run our governments.

Bill Wyatt does see anything wrong with people like David Luna because he standards are set to such a low level. People like Bill are why the Republicans can't win a one man race.

9:20.....Your assessment of Wyatt is steeped in jealously. He is my board rep and always returns phone calls (unlike my alderman Peters) and works hard. You come off like a political hack and a wannabe. p.s. watch the hispanic community rally around this guy and vote republican in April

PS watch the gangbangers rally too.

When the Dems loose I wonder who Arroyo will blame.

Was anyone at the Dems Monday night meeting? There was an issue with appointing someone to the election commission that caught Alex by surprise. It sounds like there were some pretty upset people at that meeting

Luna is a liar. He lies about his martial arts background and lies to the children he teaches. And this is the reformed Luna. Imagine what a dirt bag he was before he became a good boy.

But it makes sense, what with Luna and his friends able to provide muscle and protection services.

Gee I wonder what the topic is when Wyatt pulls into parking lots for quick conversations late at night. Apparently telephones are inconvenient. As we all know it is easier to meet people in parking lots late at night at train stations, parks etc. Isn't that what everyone does?

Btw, who is Wyatt's father-in-law?

Boy, you little inuuendo throwers out to work for a gossip ragazine! What a bunch of small minded crap!

Billy boy funnels money to the board chairman so that developers don't look so eager for payback after sweet land deals.

Campana are you reading this?

I would not trust Luna with my kid's. What if he is still a target
and your kids are near.Besides
he really was as nice to his brther
Raul as he said,or any of his brothers and that is a FACT!!!!!!

RIGHT LUNA !!!!

How about paying for your kids? Beats on his wife (had 3) and Bill and Gabby support him. The voters are waiting.

Do these people get any $$ or financial backing for their campaigns? If so, it would make sense that Luna is running for office cause then he could use that money to make good on his child support!

Greviskes is a big time loser. Go back to Batavia

What makes Greviskes a loser? Seems like he was pretty active/productive on the county board - his constituents sure liked him.

LUNA!!!! is this what the GOP is now down too? How about we just give Billy and Gabby the keys to the city and then flush.

I thought Gabby was the head of the GOP womens group? And they like to endorse abusers? The GOP has lost its way.

2:02 - Gabby is a Latino...Wyatt staked his political future to the Hispanic train - simple as that.

Now here is a bit of reality some people may find offensive. Teh Mexican culture in the U.S. can be easily divided into two sub-grpoups, those of Spanish descent and from Mexico city and those form the indigenous people. the two groups despise each other. One thing they have in common is they are both physically abusive toward the female gender and do so with impunity. In both subcultures mistresses are tolerated and it is the norm rather than the acceptation, but those of Spanish descent will find it runs both ways, the wives also have their dalliances on a regular basis, while the wives of the non-Spanish groups only tend to have a man on the side while the husband is away trying to earn money for his family. Which is to say a practical concession is reached by both parties.

Another area of similarity and divergence is the age that men will indulge in sex with a female. Both groups see nothing wrong with sex with underage girls (by U.S. standards), but the Spanish set the bar at about 14 on up, where as the other group thinks nothing of out and out pedophilia. Sex with girls 7-11 is very common and sought after by those in the countryside.

Just an FYI...sick as it is.

You don"t know who you are dealing
with.Luna fights with his own brothers. Most of the time he does not even get along with his own mom
or family. He is a 2 face.If I were you I would not trust him any kids.

Luna is nuts. The GOP really must have dug deep in its vetting process. If you talk to the guy for 5 minutes you can tell he is not all there.

Is he still claiming to be Shaolin monk?

His Kung-fu instructor was Mike I. and Luna was a beginner in Chun Kwao Kung-fu, two years later he is claiming he is a student of Shi Yan Ming and opens up a school, only thing is Shi Yan Ming does not know him.

Let see, teaches kids under false pretenses while taking money from their parents, does not pay child support, and slaps around his wives, he should try to get a position in the Obama administration.

That was great vetting GOP.
