Election 2009 | West Aurora School Board Candidates Emerge

For the City of Aurora and surrounding communities, there is no doubt the future relies on the success of education with the six public school districts that include portions of Aurora.

Since Dr. James Rydland became Superintendent, there has been progress at West Aurora School District 129 and the district seems poised to take it to the next level, so the next school board has an opportunity and responsibility to make sure that happens.

Five candidates have emerged for three available seats for the April 7th election for school board (alphabetical order):

* Mark Bradford

* Robert Littler

* Neal Ormond (currently on board)

* Anthony Stanford

* Jonathan Wood (currently on board)

Laurie Hoffman, who is also currently on the board, is not seeking re-election. Those elected will serve a four-year term through 2013.

But where is the listing of East Aurora School Board candidates? There is no excuse for this information being withheld from the public; either Mr. Muhammad (Director of Community Relations) or Ms. Morales (executive secretary at the Service Center), or both, are NOT doing their jobs. Or the district, as usual, is making choices for arrogance.

Yep, and the Beacon News does not cover this? Not even a mention in their article where the 204 and 129board candidates were announced.

The Beacon had the ones for 129 and 204 last week. Remember the Beacon can only ask for the names to be sent to them it is up to the districts to give them. You can call down yourself and ask Lisa what the names are.

Shut up. you don't deserve to know the names.

Oh, yes we do deserve to know and it is the lack of respect to the community. But even when they decide to give the names it is up to the canidates to get their names out there and what they plan to do if they get on the board.

10:17 must be one of the "old guard" School Board members, enjoying their last few weeks of secrecy & corruption.

More swiss cheese reporting by the Beaconfused.

The Beacon is a rag that cannot afford to do much of anything. If you supply them with things, they will use them. If you expect them to go out into the city and search for news, you are going to be sorely disappointed.

As a matter of fact someone did call the Beacon last week and asked why the East side was not on that list and they said that they called and asked the to turn it in and no one did which sounds about right for them. Lisa acts like she is the one that makes all the decsions for the administration but she isn't they only thing she is doing is making people mad.

I asked Lisa Moron she said she did not validate them yet. Sounds like something is up

Anonymous said...

Yep, it sure does they haven't done that before.

I heard there was quite a few packets that went out and if Lisa is the only one that validates them we won't know till after the election. Why this year are they doing that before they tell the name no one does that. They give the names and then if after they find they aren't valid they take them off the ballot.
