Pilot Emergency Lands US Airways Jet in Hudson River After Bird Strike

On Thursday afternoon, after taking off from La Guardia Airport in New York City, a US Airways jet (Airbus A320) made an emergency landing in the Hudson River after an apparent bird strike that caused engine failure.

Everyone was able to survive because of the pilot being able to land the plane on the water and keep it floating enough to allow for rescue.
