Marilyn Bethell Murder | Teen Pleads Guilty, But Mystery Remains

The October 2005 tragedy on Aurora's northeast side of the murder of Marilyn Bethell was partly resolved with 17-year old Gareng Deng pleading guilty to being involved (he was 14 at the time of the incident).

Deng, who is originally from Sudan and was placed in the local area by the World Relief organization, will be released from prison in about 30 years when he is 47 years old.

It's still not clear who actually shot Bethell, who's body was found nearby two months after she went missing around Halloween of 2005.

Deng was involved in a crash with Bethell's car and then got into a car with someone else.

We urge prosecutors and investigators to continue to seek anyone else who may have had a role in this tragedy before this case can truly come to a resolution.

Why hasn't John Dobran explained to the people of Aurora why he couldn't find Miss Bethell even though she was laying just yards off a walking trial that ran by her home ? She lay there for two months either dead or left for dead. Not only is Dobran incompetent but he is a gutless coward hiding behind others.

Because no one but you cares.

If Marilyn Bethell had a surviving family the City/APD would have been sued for a large sum of money, and the esteemed Mr. Dobran would be an Assistant Manager at some fast food joint. APD= No Accountabilty.......again.

One more reason to worry about the "transitional housing" Naperville churches are setting up in Aurora. Bring in northern Africans who have unknown histories and backgrounds. Just one example of what can happen.
