Election 2010 | Dillard Gets Endorsed By Former Gov. Jim Edgar, But Will It Backfire?

Former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar endorsed State Sen. Kirk Dillard for Governor on Monday for the Republican primary.

But many of primary opponents quickly pointed out Dillard worked for Edgar as his Chief of Staff and there's no surprise. More significantly, they say Edgar's efforts to increase taxes are not the policy for the future and his endorsement is just another example of going back to the past.

Let's not forget though that as a young Senator Kirk Dillard opposed Edgar's tax increases not only once, but twice
