Extend th El line as far west as possibe. Build the Star railine, forget about high speed rail to St louis (500 million to get to St Louis an hour earlier vs. a rail lin that will connect the south suburbs to Woodfield and Ohare?. Seems like a no brainer!

An easier solution. Reduce the number of vehicles. How you say? Eliminate excess population by exporting illegal aliens.

I was at a transportation meeting to see a presentation of the Eisenhower Congestion. Many cenario were presented. The end result was that even if they added a two level epressway through from 294 to the Chicago City limits it would have no effect on decreasing congestion. Traffic planners believe that there is an acceptable threshold that the average driver will put up with and there is such a desire to drive your own vehicle that the day the two level system opens it will be full.

With the Obama administration and the United Nations policies that are creaping into this nation there will be aday when none of us will be be able to have a car so the roadways will be irrelevant.

You think not? Look into the ideas of sustainable development and where many came from. Yes the United Nations criminals and dictators that want to destroy this nation.

Follow the Green Movement when it comes to construction of new roads and expressways. Those that make the decisions in IDOT and the Tollway Authority have been convinced that congestion will help in solving the so called problem of global warming. If the roads stay congested people will elect to use public transportation which is their ulimate goal.

You really want them to use public transportation? Then raise the tolls to $10 at every entrance, and exit ramps and all tollbooths. Also, increase the gas tax another $3.00 a gallon. Even at that, you might see a slight increase in public transportation. Bottom line, people won't give up their cars, trucks, vans or SUV's. Period.
