Why did anyone run they already picked someone my guess it will be Ray Hull. The idiot Board member how resigned after he stuck the district with the Serial Bully.
I read in todays paper the District hired 3 more administrators. While other Districts are laying off D131 is spending like water. Why because us the poor taxpayer just paid for the referendum.
Attending last nights meeting it was clear Roberts is going blind. He could not see a paper that was up to his nose.
So why more office help because the District is spending money on his blindness and working around him.
The Board new this when giving him a 4 year contract that was the big rush. This Board is worst than the last one.

Raymond Hull would be a disaster! He is a loose cannon--he's the one who got up last year at a board meeting and RANTED at Dee, Anita, and Rayanne.

On the positive side, it will be good to have a male perspective on the board. Just not Raymond Hull!

On Tuesday, April 8th, 2003 Mr. Raymond Hull said the following, at an East Aurora school board meeting:

"Teachers are the key to stopping the promotion of children who are not prepared. Compensation for our teachers should be based on results and not tenure. A seat on the school board should also be based on results".

Not only did Mr. Hull help choose the Serial Bully, he is obviously pro-administration and anti-teachers (holding teachers and not administration responsible for student achievement).

The last part of his statement, however, rings true. Results ARE important in choosing a school board member. And the results of the old-guard "Bully Board" suggest that Mr. Hull would be a terrible choice for our present-day School Board!

District 131 will soon enter into teachers talks. Ray Hull by all accounts will be the new Board member. Johnson is the Board rep and a accountant. She will look to free up money for the administrators who did not receive a raise when Johnson & Lewis were not bought off by the administration. The teacher will be told money will be tight next year. Roberts will test the waters and let teachers strike because the economy is so bad.

I like Benny Maravilla. Great guy, honest and dependable. He isn't a mindless Chapa LaVia stooge, but rather someone who will do what's right for the kids, regardless of the outside pressure.

Maravilla is owned by Weisner, and only cares about illegals. Plus he barely speaks English.

I can't imagine why anyone would want Ray Hull on the board again. He is a throwback to all that was wrong under the serial bully's reign, plus he is a bag of hot air.

If they care at all about doing what is right, they'll choose one of the Hispanic candidates. It would be great to have more than one Hispanic on the board to represent the people in our district.

I wish someone would challenge this board. Someone should FOIA their emails I bet they would find them interesting and see how this board really works but until the community and parents stand up to them nothing will happen. Yes some tried before but change is coming.

You can bet some of these board members are meeting for lunch to talk about this and if there is more than three that is a violation of the open meetings act and they way I hear it they do it. This board is more like a group that wants to be buddy buddy and when one decides they don't like what is going on is turned against. They only thing they care about is taking care of the Superintendent and his pension.

We will never be a good district until this stops and our children suffer for it. It is too bad the state turns away and lets it go on.

If I was one of the other candidates and really wanted this job and I don't know why because like someone said it would be like driving a nail in your head I would watch how this board picks there candidate because like it was said they have already decided that's how it works here.

Isn't there two Hispanics on the board now? Didn't Gonzales pal get picked last time?

I don't think Ms. Truza is Hispanic.

And with the population of our district being overwhelmingly Hispanic, having more than a couple Hispanics on the board could be a good thing.

I'm optimistic that the majority of this board would see the wisdom of NOT picking the old-guard throwback.

If you look at the East Aurora Website and the picture of the board members they have a person named Lisa something as the secretary of the board and she looks Hispanic. I could be wrong and it looks like they have eight members of their board instead of the usual seven besides the student members so who knows what is up with this district.

this only Hispanic can represents Hispanics need stop or else you are admitting their are differences and that stereotypes are not only accurate but fitting. Either you are a American or you are not, black, white, asian, or hispanic.

That picture 7:43 is referring to is very misleading! Lisa (Loveland) Morales is NOT a School Board member. She is Dr. Roberts' secretary; she was NOT elected to the Board, and should not be in the picture of our School Board (unless there was something explaining her role, so people didn't understandably assume she's a member).

Just one more example of the way people at the central office do things. Confusion and corruption--business as usual.

Making decisions for arrogance.

To the person/people who were asking when minutes would be posted for the Dec. 21 meeting: they're online now.

Also the January 4th meeting.

One interesting bit of information: Mrs. Arlene Hawks was paid $6,176.00 for guest directing the musical. We already know that Mr. Liska was paid $6,500. Add to that the thousands of dollars paid to the several adult professional musicians in the pit and we're talking about a VERY expensive show!

But of course no amount is too great to prop up administrators' images and make it APPEAR that all is well.

Making (expensive) choices for arrogance!
