Pat Quinn Increases Salaries for Staff, Cronies and Union Workers While Cutting Education and Sinking Illinois Into Further Debt...And Lying About It

Sen. Bill Brady says the pay raises temp Gov. Pat Quinn gave his staff show he is incapable of solving the state's budget problems and has "lost control of state government."

An analysis of records show Quinn has boosted salaries of 43 staff members an average of 11.4% since he took office.

Quinn claims he has reduced his staff by 10 positions.

In February 2009, Quinn took over with 122 employees.  By July 2009, he had 125 employees.  Now, he has 124 employees.

Quinn claims he reduced the governor's office budget and "is 25% lower than it was when I was sworn in."

However, records show he asked for 10% spending increase this year.

Quinn claims he has been tough on spending cuts, but 40,000 union workers got another raise a few days ago.  Just happens to be the union that Quinn wants financial contributions and election campaign help from.

All of this would be bad enough given the state's fiscal crisis and sinking taxpayers into billions more into debt for what most people consider an "irresponsible" budget, but Quinn is having trouble with the most important aspect to this situation.

Telling the truth.

Is there a list of employees that got raises?

Although the State is cutting funding they seem to have grant money to give to districts for their employees to learn Spanish so they can communicate to workers. In fact the Superintendent has to take the class so he can speak to non teachers. This district has a high ELL community so don't you think the Superintendent should be able to speak Spanish. What a waste of tax payers dollars.

Openline is talking about Telling the Truth? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Openline, where is the story about Weisner's crony?

Where's the picture of Wiesner, Galloway and Nayak?

I recently seen a article with Dr Jerome Roberts quoted as saying he needed to learn Spanish so he can communicate with his employees not only does East Aurora educate all the illegals but now they employ them as well.

Don't forget that D131 has created about six administration jobs in the last three months and they are in the money doing fine on the taxpayers dime while other districts are having to cut back because they don't get the grants like that district does.

From what I hear one of the board members daughter's got an part time job as a administrator which probably means they get benefits also.

Democratic cronyism at its best.

I heard OBAMA has a new motto...."The first and the worst".

What do you expect at d131 the Superintendent is black, the employees don't speak English certainly not as their first language and they get the grant money while taxpayers like us foot the bill. West Aurora is barely staying alive now Quinn cuts busing money why. Because it does not hurt Chicago Public Schools. Who benefits schools like East Aurora. When talking with a West Aurora administrator he said they do not get as much from the State because the kids are not poor enough.
I have had the pleasure of trying to carry on a conversation with Jerome Roberts the man can barely speak or thinks he is to good for white folk. I am sure when all those grant checks are handed out by stupid white foundations Jerome is a great photo op. Our system is a joke

Why does Jerome need to learn spanish? What's wrong with the mexicans learning to speak English. Afterall, we're not in mexico. Another fine example how we cater to these wetbacks that are to stubborn to adapt to our culture.

Again Openline shows it's bias by not posting the article about Nayak, Weisner's crony, and his one million dillar scam for Jesse Jackson Jr? What promises were Weisner given from this Nayak?

District 131 just gave a administrator a 22,000.00 raise how many of you not in public service got a raise like that?

Remember how to vote when they want to pass the next school referendum.

Really thanking Quinn for these raises on the backs of just about everyone in IL, not the least of which is special needs adults, who are losing the programs which help them with jobs and attainment of independence. Their programs have been cut 75% since Jun 09. Wasn't that enough for you greedy politicians?
