Elimination of Aurora Election Commission Botched By So-Called Corporation Counsel Alayne Weingartz

We strongly commend the Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner and Alderman Rick Lawrence for their mutual rationale and effort to save costs and simplify the confusing multiple election authorities by eliminating the Aurora Election Commission.

On August 10, the Aurora City Council voted unanimously to add the question of eliminating the Aurora Election Commission to the November 2010 ballot.

However, turns out Alayne Weingartz, the city's so-called corporation counsel, failed to follow the proper rules and take appropriate steps to make sure the process of putting the question on the ballot complied with the law and applicable rules.

One of those rules involves a simple petition of 1,000 City of Aurora voters, but there are also reports materials were not provided to the board for the Aurora Election Commission in a timely manner and deadlines were missed.

This would not be the first time Alayne Weingartz has created more complications than solutions for the Mayor Tom Weisner and taxpayers, but we hope this is one step closer to her voluntary resignation and/or involuntary termination.

Wow - so no report on the city throwing away more tax payer dollar to allow business men to expand there already established businesses that should have allowed them to obtain a business loan either from an established financial institution or as a private placement?

No comment that the Section 108 loan was not benefiting low income people nor in a blighted area.

Come one OpenLine.

Rumor is that Weisner like to buf but his wife is not compliant yet Alayne likes it that way hence the reason she has survived.

So in the end(pun intended) it appears Alayne and Obama have something in common, they both like men and take it in the ass.

Openline ends their exile by stealing another story from the Beacon. Ho hum.

What I can see from following the Election Commission issue is there are now two attorneys disagreeing. The City says the issue can be put to a vote while the Election Commission's attorney says no it can't. So tell me openline, does that means the issue is now dead and over? The opinion of the Election Commission's own attorney is what rules here? His opinion would not be a self-serving one, would it?

Openline equals any thing against Alderman Hart Burns, Alderman Garza and the City Attorney. Do I detect a problem with women in positions of authority? Hello?

Hey 12:35 a.m.:

Time to go back to your own cell block now. It was lights out an hour and a half ago.

So what are the rumors about the people who run this blog? 12:35 a.m. would like to know.

I love people who say that blogs are the "future of news." Yeah right, what a joke. People who get their news from here should be put to death.

Who cares what a screw the public pension-welfare tart like yourself thinks.

10:52 am you have 12:52am all wrong
He is camped out in his mother's basement chomping on cheetos while siting in his underware in front of his computer playing with the internet and anything else that might be handy.

As 12:52 reads this his brain is exploding because he fails to recognize that he is a total loser who is unwilling to attached his real name to any of the comments that he posts.

The comments by 4:19 are right. Every time one of these public service welfare tarts cashes in his chips the taxpayer wins. This attitude is becoming pervasive because public servants abused the system.

New poll: Is playing politics while hiding behind an anonymous blog a form of cowardice?

Anonymous said...

I just love the anon posts attacking people for posting anon.

LOL

How hard is it to read the law and follow the appropriate steps? Apparently too hard for Weingartz.

1:38 p.m. There's a difference between commenting anonymously and running a political blog without telling people who you are.

Who says the City did not follow the law? Oh, that's right, it was the attorney for the Election Commission. Well, that settles it then as that lawyer must be right.

Did I read in the Beacon that the City paid the former owner of the Masonic Temple $316,000 so he could make his last loan payment? Who gave the approval for that check and what was the thinking behind that deal? Sounds like it was thought up after twelve hits on the crack pipe. No wonder the City has financial problems.

How about the fact that it was sold for a dollar? Reminds me of dealings about the old Copley.

Obummer and the Whizz. Two incompetent, amature administrations, in way over their heads.

I want to defer my next bank loan payment.

Uh, you can. The city has programs to do that, believe it or not and alter your contract too.

politicians really suck, or am i the only one who has noticed those who win the elections are those sucking up to well healed individuals for the filling of the campaign coffers, and telling the biggest lies about what they are going to do, but can never seem to fulfill their promises once they get your vote.
as far as the deficit, if tommy boy had any balls, he would begin meeting with representatives of all the unions, and begin negotiations to restructure the pay scales and benefit allowance for new hires. the same should be done with the city non union employees as well.
ain't gonna be popular, and may cause static with the various unions, but let's face it public sector employees create no wealth. they are compensated by the taxpayer rather than profits as it is in the real world.
