Illinois Unemployment Rate Hits 10 Percent | Courtesy of Barack Obama, Pat Quinn, Lisa Madigan, Michael Madigan and the Political Mafia

When a private company announces a new project, facility or anything involving new jobs, most politicians are quick to show up for the photo opportunity and take credit for new jobs.

However, when unemployment continues to get worse, it's never anyone's fault...it's just the economy.

The unemployment rate in Illinois has hit 10%, the worst number since August 2010.  We note while the national economy has floundered overall, there are places (i.e. Texas) where jobs have increased, not decreased.

President Barack Obama, who has surrounded himself with card-carrying members of the Chicago Political Mafia, is desperately pushing a jobs bill that would focus on the public sector, not private sector.  It also happen to focus on the jobs related to powerful labor unions that fuel much of his campaign.

Probably just a coincidence, of course.  Obama promised he wouldn't play politics as usual.  You know, "change we can believe in."

Meanwhile, the State of Illinois, led by Pat Quinn, Lisa Madigan, Michael Madigan, John Cullerton and the rest of the political mafia, continues to be a State of Crisis.

With a massive tax increase, public pension crisis, skyrocketing debt, wild spending, companies leaving and people getting stung with fees, tolls, fares, government has sought every possible way to extract more to provide less.

A new poll shows 85.1% of respondents think Illinois is headed in the wrong direction.

As absurd and ignorant as it may seem that 14.9% think Illinois is doing well, they apparently are the ones who vote the most since we somehow keep getting the same people elected who keep making the same mistakes.

Polls show that 73% of Americans blame Bush.

This country didn't start with Obama. Remember the damage done by "W'?

Openline needs to do some reading.

And 73% of all men claim they have fucked your wife in the ass. It doesn't change the fact your wife is a slut or that Obama is an idiot.

Obviously 3:50 has nothing intelligent to add to the conversation. Would have been better to remain silent rather than show everyone their level of intelligence.

Yes 2:42 and 4:01 really added something of substance...NOT!

And 3:50 added nothing of substance, either. What I'd like to know is where this supposed poll was published. It's real easy to claim some poll said something when you don't name the poll so people can check it out for themselves. If Openline wants to pretend like he's some kind of "new media" journalist, he needs to name some sources and give some details of the poll. How big was the poll sample? How were the participants chosen? Without giving the details, the only conclusion we can draw is that Openline did the poll himself, carefully choosing who he talked to, to make sure he'd get the results he wanted.

Hey, that's definitely open line's style. Every poll he puts on his blog very carefully limits the possible responses, so you can't choose an answer he doesn't like. None of his polls really reflect how Aurora thinks.

And here we see just how responsible and ethical openline blog is. On the East Aurora blog, a hateful, obscene attack like 3:50s would be deleted, and a note put in its place that a post had been deleted. On openline blog, those kinds of posts stay, and other posts that make valid points contrary to openline's own opinions get quietly deleted, with no notice to anyone the post had ever been there.

Then go over an post at the East Aurora blog you idiot! Maybe some Moolie or Spic will converse with you in the high language arts you are more accustom to.

I do post sometimes over there. I guess I come here to see what kinds of things hateful, bigoted, un-American, low-life scum like you are saying. I notice you're up at 3 am blogging. Pretty sad that your entire life revolves around hating other people (probably because you know they're better than you are). The big difference between the EA blog and Openline is that the EA blog doesn't pretend to be some kind of journalistic endeavor. They just provide a forum for people to share their thoughts and opinions, yet they show more of the ethics and integrity you'd expect of journalists by screening out the obscene and disgusting comments like yours, but allowing all who respectfully share their views and opinions to do so, whether that opinion agrees w/ the blog administrator or not. Openline on the other hand, ONLY screens out the opinions he doesn't agree w/, and not only allows the disgusting stuff (like yours) to stay, he actually seems to prefer it. I guess you've found a home.

Oh, well then your record is much better than I thought. Your first post was wrong, then you get credit for your second being right. So you're only wrong 50% of the time so far.

It's funny that because some people don't like the poll results, they are blaming Openline, but other media are reporting the SAME poll results, originally from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at SIU.

So, I guess Openline, SIU and many other media are all in a conspiracy to trick us into believing only 14.9% of people think the state is headed in the right direction.

Ah, FINALLY someone gives some information about where the poll comes from. NOW we can go to the poll itself and analyze the results for ourselves. I wasn't "blaming" Openline for the results, and whether I liked the results or not had nothing to do w/ my previous posts. It was all about Openline not giving enough information for me to tell if the poll even existed. I wasn't about to assume such a poll had even been done, let alone what the results were, based on Openline's words. Thank you for providing the information that Openline SHOULD have provided in the first place.

To 7:03 you really come a cross as a whiny little bitch. Who are you to make demands of this forum's owner(s). If you don't like it, don't read the blog. Above all stop your bitching. Start you own blog "The Daily Whine".

Wow, I sure struck a nerve w/ somebody. I read the blog to have something/somebody to laugh at. Like you. There is a blog already that is all about bitching and whining. It's called Openlineblog. Who am I to make demands of this blog's owner? Who is this blog's owner to make demands of everyone else? And who are you to make demands of me? Actually, I'm not making demands. I'm pointing out this blog owner's hypocrisy, and lack of accountability when he tries to hold everyone else accountable. In other words, all I'm doing is telling the truth. Surely you know what the truth is. Otherwise how could you manage to avoid it so well?

10/24/11 2:00 AM Thanks for the lead on where to find the actual poll. I've been on the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute website. They've been doing that poll for 4 years now. They don't have the full results on the website (big unveiling 11/14, I guess), and don't have the part of asking the question about the direction Illinois is going. BUT they've asked that question every year, and it has been rising annually thru the 70%s, so being up to 85% this year would not be a stretch. I have to admit Openline may have actually reported an accurate figure.

One thing that IS released from the study though I found interesting. It's about the budget situation. The majority of respondents (~58%) feel that the budget can be fixed by eliminating waste in the budget. About 29% feel we need a combination of cuts & revenue increases. BUT when they start asking about cuts in specific areas, all those people who said we should cut oppose almost all the specific area cuts asked about. Sometimes the split is close (48% opposed cutting state pensions while 45.5% supported it), and sometimes the split was a lot wider (83.5% opposed cutting services to people with mental or physical disabilities while 12.3% were in favor). But there were no areas in which the majority favored cutting that area. On the revenue side, 50.1% supported extended the sales tax to service, while 45.9% opposed it, and 56.8% were in favor of expanding gambling while 38.8% were opposed. All other revenue increases were opposed by the majority.

To see this part of the poll for yourself, go to http://paulsimoninstitute.org/images/PDF/polls/oct21-simonpoll.pdf. Again, thanks 2:00 am. I’ll keep this website in my favorites, and check back in when the entire poll is released.
