Election 2012 | Newt Gingrich Wins South Carolina Primary Big...Now What?
As most old media entities pre-decided the race for the GOP nomination for President was over after New Hampshire, it turns out voters in Iowa and South Carolina didn't agree it should definitely be Mitt Romney.
On Saturday, Newt Gingrich won big in South Carolina and reset the Republican race and process ahead.
He not only easily defeated Mitt Romney, but exit polls showed something new for the first time...people think he's got a chance to defeat Barack Obama.
So, what happened? Many factors, but Gingrich's strong debate performances seem to have made a difference because he's openly declaring he can challenge Obama and provide a contrast.
"Voters want someone to smack the issues head-on with Barack Obama. Mitt Romney is a successful guy, Ron Paul is a man of principles with passionate and dedicated supporters, many of them young. Rick Santorum appeals to conservatives and a populist approach. Newt, whether you agree or disagree with him on his views, appears able to fire at Obama and make the case" said a campaign consultant.
The next primary is in Florida.
How will the Republican nomination for President end up?

Got the jig on the run...
^^^The kind of narrow minded thinking that will keep Obama in office.
Isn't he irrelevant ?
Actually what got Gingrich the win was the "old media". The right wingers hate anybody that tells unpleasant truths, and love anybody that slams the media. The moderator at the last debate handed it to Gingrich by bringing up Gingrich's moral hypocrisy in the first question of the debate. If Gingrich hadn't arranged for that to be the first question ahead of time, Gingrich owes him big time. It allowed Gingrich to blast the media, which was like throwing red meat to the lions in the audience. The oh-so-moral-right is embracing a guy who's cheated on two wives (so far), is really the ultimate Washington insider, was removed from his position as Speaker BY HIS OWN PARTY after an ethics investigation which cost him $300k, but because he claims to have come back to God in repentance, they let him slide. Oh, he's a good Catholic now (but I thought divorcees couldn't be Catholic?). As far as his political positions, if anyone else changes his position the right calls them a flip-flopper, but they let Gingrich get away w/ all his changes because Gingrich "admits" he was wrong. Will they forgive him his future flip-flops, when he tries to shift toward the center for the general election to attract the independent and moderate voters?
Nice appraisal of the situation.
It will be Newt vs. the teleprompter...
I'll take the teleprompter.
10:40- they may cancel your link card. Just think you might have to actually work for a living!!
He is the most moral, religious,
ethical, consistent, loyal, conservative, person running for president.
That is right, it is Newt.
Oh nevermind. just kidding.
the eye of Newt is a paid Obama plant to guarantee 4 more years of democrat rule and make the tea party look like a bunch of angry, small minded, mouth breathing, knuckle dragging bigots.
actually it is kind of brilliant of Soros.
11:31 - You make a lot of assumptions. From your post I also can make some assumptions; 1) you are a moron, 2) you are white, 3) you have a better chance of using a link card than I do, 4) because of polarizing idiots like you Obama will win again. I'm sure he appreciates your help.
Sincerely, 10:40
10:40/2:49: You shouldn't have called him a moron for three reasons:
1. Making assumptions is always a dangerous thing to do.
2. Calling someone names kind of undercuts YOUR credibility.
3. Most importantly, now you have to apologize to all the morons you just insulted by equating them to him.
4:07 - 1) from his post you have to agree it is more an accurate assessment than an assumption, 2) anyone that casts unprovoked insults at people with different opinions is a moron and that does not affect my credibility, and 3) I do apologize to morons...that was not fair to them.
But I do appreciate your constructive criticism!
Morons Demonrats, 601-602, no difference...
