I was very disappointed in Obama's speech. Instead of coming to the middle, he's sticking to the extreme.

Might as well stay to one extreme, since the Republicans always stick to the other. Why bother moving to the middle, when the other side has made it extremely clear they aren't budging? The Republicans have made it abundantly clear since 2009 that they'd rather nothing get done so they'd win the next election. BOTH sides need to move toward the middle.

What we need is a new, viable party that aims for the middle. The Democrats have moved too far to the left. The Republicans have moved too far to the right -- and then the Tea Party comes in even farther to the right! It could work okay if they put the country first and tried to work together, but they all put their own political agenda first and would rather see our country fail so they could blame it on the other guy.

The Democrats have not moved far enough to the left. They only appear leftist to some people because the Republicans have allowed themselves to be pulled so far to the right by the tea baggers. Thanks to the tea baggers and the repub candidates falling all over themselves to move to the extreme right, inflicting damage upon each other along the way, President Obama will be reelected.
