For some odd reason, the usual politicians who like to take credit for "jobs" and "rankings" such as Pat Quinn, Rahm Emanuel, Michael and Lisa Madigan, Richard Daley, John Cullerton or the rest of the political mafia didn't have a press conference to announce a CEO Survey ranked Illinois 3rd worst for business climate in the United States.
Chief Executive Magazine asked 650 corporate executives to rate their state business climates and among the reasons listed for Illinois' poor rating were taxes and excessive regulation.
Meanwhile, Texas was rated as the top state for business climate.

coincidentally all the governors of the bottom three states are demonrats!!!!!
Texas may be good for business, but being forced to move there by a job is the only reason anyone would live there.
Of course the CEOs are going to prefer states with Republican governors. They're easier to buy. As a CEO, I want a state that puts me ahead of the residents. Just because they can vote doesn't mean they should have any say in how the state is run. There should be a low (or no) corporate tax, so the voters can pay for all the roads my trucks need to transport my goods, and the voters can pay for my fire and police protection, and the voters can pay for all my infrastructure needs. My company shouldn't have to pay for any of that -- because they've gotta pay my multi-million dollar salary, and my full health care coverage (while I slash my workers' coverage), and after all 10 mansions isn't enough. By the time my company pays for all that, and for the "contributions" I make to the politicians, we can't afford to pay the workers a decent wage, or pay anything in taxes to help support the state.
9:21 Now I know how and why the USA is turning communist with views like yours. Glad, as I'm sure as you will be, that I won't have to live with the carnage your ilk promotes. May your children and grandchildren suffer the wrath of your mentality.
9:21 ...moron, what else can be said.
Nope, 7:27, not now and never have been communist. And to you it's obviously just a buzzword to throw out w/o knowing what you're talking about. I'm talking about people (i.e. CEOs) and corporations paying their own way. That's not communism. And 9:56, thanks for identifying yourself.
Most importantly, thanks to both of you for reinforcing my post. After all, neither one of you actually refuted one thing I said. So I obviously made my point, you saw the truth in it but didn't like it, so had to go to name calling.
Texas is the top state for business, especially if your business is selling drugs used for executions. Texas is also the leading state for executions, and don't let a little thing like innocence get in the way. I'm actually not opposed to the death penalty if you can be 100% certain the person is guilty, but Texas has executed people even when evidence is presented to Perry before the execution that the person wasn't guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, but was in fact innocent beyond a reasonable doubt.
