Aurora Housing Authority Names New Executive Director While Legal War Heats Up (At Taxpayer Expense)

Thanks to the incredible response by the community, taxpayers, schools and officials such Alderman Rick Lawrence, one of Aurora's most chronic problems, Jericho Circle, will soon be demolished as the Aurora Housing Authority (AHA) approved a contract for $1.5 million to demolish all the properties of one of America's worst slums.

However, thanks to incompetence of the Weisner administration and the political battle between the slumlords of AHA (Little Al Schuler and Bill Burns), the question about whether or not another slum will be rebuilt remains unanswered pending various litigation.

Meanwhile, the AHA has named Keith Gregory, previously finance director of the Housing Authority of Fulton County, to be the new executive director starting October 1st.

According to sources and HUD, the financial performance of the Housing Authority of Fulton County was most recently listed as substandard financial in the past year.

The real solution isn't just to demolish Jericho Circle, but to demolish the entire public housing inventory of Aurora Housing Authority and give people in need vouchers so they never have to live in misery again and we don't waste further taxpayer dollars.

Openline finally got it right! And I quote,"Rick Lawrence, one of Aurora's most chronic problems." Too funny.

When will Lawrence's involvement in D129's cover-up be revealed?

The Aurora Housing Authority is four times larger than the Fulton County, Georgia Housing Authority.

Hey Rick, give them all vouchers and let them move into your neighborhood. Re build Jericho under current building codes and it won't be sub-standard. What makes is sub-standard is the animal that is housed there. Just like a zoo but less civilized.

Blah blah blah blah blaaaaaaaahhhhhhh if the new board would have voted.

Why would AHA hire a former diector of finance whose agency was rated by HUD as substandard in the fianacial area?

I keep hearing about some D129 cover up. Please elaborate. A local person would like to know what is going on. Please post links, proof, facts, evidence.

So all of a sudden proof is required on this blog?

I heard one of the new board members is ridiculous and verbose.
