Good - These stupid religious leaders need to shut their damn mouths. Nobody is making them marry gay couples, but the STATE can. The STATE is not a religious institution and should not be held hostage by religions fanatics.

As a Christian, I am opposed to same sex "marriage" but as an American Citizen, a ban is unconstitutional. We have to wear two hats. We should not have Christian suria law.

Personally, I think it's silly for a man to get married to another man. I don't see the point of it. You're not going to raise a family (?). I would also acknowledge that is harmless. It isn't going to inconvience anyone. There are more pressing issues facing the people these days like unemployment, health care, and government debt.

We should do what some European countries do: all couples (gay, straight, whatever) go to the courthouse for a legal ceremony/civil union, and those who desire church marriage also have a wedding ceremony at a church.

The point is that our government gives tax breaks to married people and gay couples can't get those.

3:38 p.m., there are many same-sex couples who adopt children and raise families.

So, is it okay for a person to marry their sibling? If gay marriage is okay, why not?

Those who support gay marriage should practice what they preach. Let them have sex with someone of the same gender and see if they like it.

More perverted ideas to further the destruction of AMERIKA. It is coming sooner then anyone realizes.

Now Illinois leading Republican Pat Brady has joined the Gingrich traitors to high moral standards and supports this hideous proposition. Seems like the Republicans just can't wait to get into the cesspool of immoral activities just like their DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST cousins. All following the lead of the DEVILS ADVOCATE OBAMA. HAIL ROME. BREAD AND CIRCUSES all over again...morally weak bastards. Look for the rise of the tea party to replace the GOP.

12:03 you are an idiot. That is what you morons always do. Next you will be talking about marrying a dog. Shut the fuck up.

It would be silly for a man to marry a sibling. It would be silly for a man to marry a beast. It would be silly for a man to marry another man.

Marriage should be something churches do. Churches can regulate who they marry.

Civil unions should be what the government does. The government can regulate who can be civilly united.

Oh wait...that makes too much sense!

Yes, that does make very good sense and it was well and politely stated. Are you sure you're on the right Blog site? Such qualities are rare here. :)

The point of all of the gay marriage thing is that the Government gives benefits to married couples, and gay couples don't get those benefits.

The government should not discriminate based on ANYTHING - They should be about protecting ALL people and not just the people "Christians" like.

So the government can take away the benefits to married couples or extend those benefits to civil unions. I don't care - I just don't want MY MONEY supporting the discrimination of any group of people.

(This is a really good post too, but you won't think so because it does not follow your "Christian" views.)

9:21 admit it, you hate Christians. I doubt you would be that brave if you said the same thing to a Muslim.

Oh shut up 9:04 - I hate hypocrites who try to discriminate against any group of people.

This whole, poor Christian thing. Christians get discrimination too - BULL SHIT. Christians control this country and are running it into the ground making everybody else miserable.

6:23-yeah, you do indeed hate Christians. I bet you are indeed too scared to be pro-gay in front of a Muslim.

Ok, thanks shit head. Whatever you say. You're too stupid to continue this conversation. I don't even have a fucking clue what you are talking about.

As an agnostic, this is my opinion on Gay Marriage: I don't really know and I don't really think about it much.
