Threats, Intimidation, Personal Harm and "You'll Regret This" - Who Stops the Government Gangbangers, Political Mafia and Bullies from Aurora, Illinois to Washington DC?

As news swirls about the threats by President Obama's White House toward Bob Woodward, one of the most famous journalists in American history, one must wonder "what the hell are they thinking?"

Is this type of intimidation rare or common?

Well, in Aurora, Illinois, it happens ALL THE TIME.

Tom Weisner, the so-called mayor, thinks of himself as a dictator, king and bully-in-chief.

He has an extensive history of being vindictive, paranoid and wants to "get" anyone who dares to disagree, question or have another view.

Weisner's conduct over the years has ranged from stalking people's homes with certain campaign yard signs and calling them to harass them to remove it if it's someone he doesn't like to much more serious threats, acts of intimidation and attempts at personal harm and to destroy people's lives.

He's also a narcissist.

For proof, look around Aurora as he puts up large campaign signs to remind everyone he's the dictator-in-chief and he see his own name.  He even has a a paid "staff" with consultants and spending tens of thousands.

Even though he doesn't have an opponent for the election.

To be fair, like all dictators, the problem usually can be traced long before he was given a throne.

In Weisner's case, you can go back before 2005 when was elected mayor.

Just ask the last two previous mayors of Aurora, David Stover and David Pierce, who Weisner worked for and eventually sabotaged.

Weisner's insecurity and inferiority complex surrounding Stover and Pierce is legendary and, even to this day, he's trying to make them look bad in a desperate attempt to make himself look good.

Or ask people who worked with him during the last two decades.

Ask a former Chief of Staff for the City of Aurora.  Weisner attacked him at a city council meeting recently for daring to speak freely as a public citizen.

Ask the guy Weisner punched who was his tenant many years ago.

Ask anyone who's had to deal with Weisner after's he's had a too many "tall ones."

Ask the Aurora Police rank-n-file officers who Weisner has hated for years, but happy to exploit them.  Ask them what they think of the dictator-in-chief.

Since becoming mayor with the power of the office and over TWO BILLION DOLLARS of taxpayer funds, with a mostly rubber-stamp city council, surrounded by incompetent staff, political mafia, union thugs and the cesspool of Aurora as his base, Weisner's behavior, threats and bully tactics have only become worse, both in public and behind-the-scenes.

The former local newspaper for Aurora, the old Beacon-News, which eventually went bankrupt and now has moved to Chicago, has been the target of many media threats over the years.

From "you won't get access" to pressure from certain old-guard crony advertisers, Weisner has always been attempting to intimidate and control media.

He has a harder time when the media is from outside Aurora because he can't "control" them and, they don't give a damn about who he is, as illustrated by this example just this week with the BGA/CBS investigation into Weisner:

Given the widespread corruption, incompetence and lies coming from the Weisner regime over the years, the old newspaper would have been smarter to just report on it and let their readers see what was going on.

Instead, they buckled, chose to "get along" and be an extension of the old-guard.

Meanwhile, OpenlineBlog took a much different approach and went head-on into the issues, regardless of who's who.  However, our entire team learned very quickly that's not supposed to be the way things work in this community.

You don't do things your own way in Aurora.  You do it the Aurora Way.

If not, as the mayor sent us a message through one of his thugs, "you'll regret it."

And, so it began...the threats, acts of intimidation and attempts to harm our team, contributors, contacts, interns and anyone who dared to speak up, ask a question or have a different view.  We have seen it all.

When one of Weisner's top cronies told us a few years back "you need to stop targeting the mayor OR ELSE..." we created this dartboard and sent one to the mayor for his office decor since he was planning to buy a $14,000 desk with taxpayer funds:

And, yes, in case you are wondering, the only way to score is to hit the target head-on.

That's the OpenlineBlog Way...sorry cronies!

Recently, a well-known local law enforcement official in private communication with us wanted to know why we don't put the names of our team, interns, contributors out there.

In Aurora, Illinois, the most dangerous people to us are not the gangbangers and drug dealers lurking around our neighborhoods.  In fact, we work very cooperatively with police to avoid those problems and we know those will be dealt with if necessary.

Instead, it's the political goons, government gangbangers, big shot bullies and taxpayer exploiters who are often receiving big paychecks at your expense, getting contracts or manipulating and scheming everyone.

Those thugs are the ones that are doing far more overall harm to this city.

But Tom Weisner isn't the only bully.  He's just one of many..

Here's just a FEW examples.

Mark Guethle and Chuck "Shorty" Anderson, two union thugs connected to many schemes.  They routinely use their union positions to exert power over politicians and threaten business to "comply" with their demands.

Robert Vaughan, the former director of the Fox Valley Park District, who collects an estimated $175,000 pension from taxpayers, runs Weisner's campaign and also takes another $144,000 from the Dunham Fund, which has turned into a philanthropic political slush fund to be used and abused by the mayor's cronies.

In fact, Bob Vaughan, not Tom Weisner, may be the most powerful person in the city.  Bob Vaughan runs the city.  Tom Weisner must answer to him.  Why?  Bob smart...Tom dumb.

A much different type of bully is Vernon LaVia, the house spouse of State Rep Linda Chapa-LaVia, who has failed as most every business he's started yet claims he's the smartest guy on earth.

He is currently involved in a scheme to exploit over a MILLION DOLLARS with a pizza place scheme that would personally benefit his wife and himself at taxpayer expense.

As one viewer noted recently, "Vernon LaVia likes to think of himself as a Joe Pesci character, ya know an 'I-talian' tough guy, when he's actually just Pee Wee Herman driving around in his wife's car with official legislative plates and live under her shadow."

There's also Terry Bohr, the head of Wegman Construction, who "coincidentally" gets construction contracts in Aurora and John Cordogan, who "coincidentally" gets design contracts...and also "coincidentally" employs the mayor's son, all while "coincidentally" stuffing the mayor's pockets with cash.

In the last few weeks, there have been several examples of threats swirling around this City of Aurora, Illinois, including...

...a prominent public official was threatened by one of the above bullies with blackmail that he would be exposed for "bribery" even though it was completely false and while the same bully is involved in a scheme to ripoff taxpayers.

The mayor has personally threatened and tried to intimidate citizens.  Yes, really.

Sources say another public official was encouraged to "stay home" and not show up for a vote because he might vote "no."

Yet another public official who had previously voted no on a scheme switched his vote to "yes" after he received certain reminders of consequences.

People that have communicated with OpenlineBlog or have been mistakenly assumed to be working with us have been attacked, stalked and threatened.

City officials and the mayor have been spreading viscious lies about an aldermanic candidate and trying to destroy lives in the process to help insure their crony candidate wins.

The mayor himself tried to convince certain candidates to exit their campaigns.

A crony candidate supported by the mayor told another candidate that if this person left the race, he would work with an aide to the mayor, a former alderman and primary driver, to get him "taken care of" with a job in the city.

Union thugs associated with the mayor threatened workers with certain campaign signs in their yards they wouldn't get any work unless they removed those signs.

Another resident who had a sign mysteriously had his windows of his car smashed the day after he refused to remove a sign for someone the mayor doesn't like.

An old-guard alderman ran away from a citizen when he was asked why he didn't protect taxpayers.  God forbid, what if he had been asked why he didn't stop corruption?

The list goes on and on...and, again, that's just the last few weeks.

The mayor even now tries to lecture the public who dares speak at city council meetings. Tom Weisner MUST have the last word as if he's king and dictator of the world.

So, for those that may believe Washington DC or even Chicago is the center of threats, acts of intimidation or attempts at personal harm by government gangbangers, welcome to Aurora, Illinois, trying to be second to none for corruption, bullies, schemes and misconduct, under Tom Weisner.

And, for those of you who believe government should be run by people for the people, not run by dictators to keep their regimes in control as long as possible, we would simply say history is full of examples of dictators like Tom Weisner who eventually took a fall.

We keep forgetting he inherited another slush fund this week called the Aurora Township run by Catching and Shoemaker now it will funnel money to the Urban League and Comminity in Schools will take over youth programs. Complete control.

Looks like Kim Jung Whizz Wiesner in that picture of him with his karati suit.

Weisner fired Catching. Why would he want to help Weisner?

We all know the number one reason Openline hides in the shadows, and why the Beacon didn't publish a lot of the stuff Openline does: When you're open and honest and identify yourself, you have to be able to prove what you say. But unsubstantiated gossip, rumor, and innuendo is Openline's way.

"City officials and the mayor have been spreading viscious lies about an aldermanic candidate and trying to destroy lives in the process to help insure their crony candidate wins."
And "sources" say that's EXACTLY what Openline does. That's what all the sleazy, vicious, personal attacks against Kifowit were -- but it cost Fee because the voters of the district knew how Openline works.

"The mayor himself tried to convince certain candidates to exit their campaigns."
And Openline also calls on candidates to drop out, and is constantly calling for people to resign. Of course, since no one pays attention to Openline no one ever has.

Look who ran Catching campaign John Shoemaker. look who stands to profit Theresa Shoemaker. They are long time cronies of the Mayor. Community in Schools will profit they will now run youth services for g noire City. All the City goons supported Catching. Catchings needed a job he was disparate, just the prefect profile for Weisner.

BGA will investigate.

As for the Beacon why did it take CBS to break the story.

"As for the Beacon why did it take CBS to break the story."

I assume you mean the liquor commissioner situation w/ those being regulated being campaign contributors (probably legally, but still wrong IMO). CBS started off looking into Chicago, and probably somebody gave them a tip (maybe to distract them away from Emmanuel) "hey, you outta look at Aurora". Maybe the Beacon never got the tip, or didn't move on it fast enough. For that matter, note that Openline didn't break the story, either. Good job CBS -- the mainstream media!

It's pretty incestuous. Catching is BFFs with Theresa Shoemaker and does "free lance work" for CIS, John Shoemaker runs his campaign but he's an elected township official, Catching and Theresa are both tight with Theodia Gillespue/Quad County Urban League and we all know HER connection to Tommy, Catching has supported Weisner and attended several of his fundraiser Hell support anyone as long as he benefits personally. I'd like to know the details of this "free lance work" myself, since Catching recently bought a house. That's a big investment for someone whose website says he's self employed. No wonder he wants the supervisor job. For its cushy salary.

Have you completely lost your mind?

When was the last time the Beacon-News printed anything remotely critical of the Mayor? After years and years of "shady" political dealings involving taxpayer money (TIF) and campaign donations coming from people with liquor commission issues, it takes a Chicago based political watchdog group and a Chicago TV News Investigative Unit to FINALLY expose some of the dirty dealings that are going on at City Hall. I would love to see Pam Zekman or Andy Shaw ask the Mayor about why in 2013 the people's business of City Council Meetings still are NOT televised? I would to see the Mayor go on TV and explain how it's in the best interest of the taxpayer to spend a million or so dollars on a failed property in a rundown part of town that JUST HAPPENS to belong to a well-connected political ally of the Mayor. I also would to see the Mayor explain the process of the overly inflated appraisal of junk property. It's clear to me that the Mayor and those around him fear the term "checks and balances".

You said it, Al. Even though Openline is often over the top, all of this is basically true and it makes me sick. Since few people in this town care and the "newspaper" is useless, nothing gets done and these arrogant scoundrels just take and take. The amount of money wasted on that downtown for all of these years is astounding. The worst thing about the so called "Restaurant Row" is that the city actually has a software program that does very accurate market analysis. Apparently they are not using it because if they were they would have to admit that no one wants to spend time in that bombed out area. I plan to leave this town soon and I can hardly wait to live in a community that is worth caring about.

Clearly someone is givng tips and information to the BGA. Based on investigative procedures there has to be at least two relaible sources to go public with their report. So, it just can't be one Alderman who is feeding the BGA. Clearly the Mayor was pissed off at one the Alderman at a recent City Council Meeting. The Mayor must have known about the Channel 2/BGA report/story. I suspect that one of the sources must be unhappy business owners who are getting "squeezed" by the Weisner campaign administration. Care to speculate about the sources?

I say Ronald McDonald and Ace Frayley

I think it could be any business owner. Even if they pretend to support Weisner, they have to be hoping that he will get taken away because this city provides a bad environment for business. I also would not rule out a city worker.

To Pam Zekman and Andy Shaw, I say this: You have a prime invitation to kiss my royal Mayoral ass. You two folks should stay in Chicago and investigate what's going on there. There's nothing on here in Aurora. So what a couple of disgruntled Alderman and City Workers made up some lies about what I do as Mayor. As Mayor, I have a tough and necessary duty to fire people and you the next thing you know there out there making stuff up to reporters as some sort of vendetta. There was no connection between a $5,000 campaign contribution and my responsibilities as Head of the Liquor Commission. It's just a coincidence. As far as to why we don't televise City Council Meetings, well quite frankly it's nobody's damn business. As far as City taxpayer money being used to pay for an over-valued piece of property in a bad part of town, I can assure the taxpayers of Aurora that my close professional and personal relationship with State Rep. LaVia had absolutely nothing to do with the City essentially paying about a million dollars for a piece of questionable property in an area famous for failed businesses. It is a simple real estate transaction, nothing more. It was just a coincident that the seller of one of the properties just happened to be State Rep. LaVia. It's just a coincident that me and State Rep. have a strong "working" relationship. If people won't to connect the dots, so to speak, and make inferences that some of sort of special "sweetheart" deal was given to the LaVias, then those people can just kiss my royal Mayoral ass. And as far as Alderman Lawrence is concerned well he can just kiss my................

Somehow, I have to believe that the previous comment by "Mayor Tom" made one Alderman smile for however briefly.

Anonymous said...

Um, 10:50, Weisner is ALWAYS pissed at Lawrence, even if he hasn't said a word. Granted, I can't think of the last time Lawrence didn't say anything.

I find it very interesting that Openline choose to present a video of about the Fall of Saddam Hussein in a story that concerns the mayor of Aurora......hmmmm. In the future might Openline present a video of Saddam Hussein being put on trial? Why not go even one step further and present a video about the execution of Saddam Hussein to coincide with a story about the future of the Mayor of Aurora? Since the Mayor choose to get rid of the "The Bone Jangler" on ACTV, this town is sorely lacking in gore and in dark humour. I miss the "Bone Jangler" he is an Aurora icon. I vividly remember driving through Downtown on Broadway and seeing this chap with serious lambchops and a tall mortician's hat....it was none other than the "Big Bone Daddy Badass" aka "The Bone Jangler" and his entrouage.

Brad is an okay guy. He is moderately aware of the political scene and should have stepped up to the plate when he had the chance. He played it safe and crapped out losing the airwaves.

he never shoudl have held back on what he knew about Irvin and others.

The new spokesperson for the Mayor Mr man of the year left his job because of a student complaint. Look for this story to break and if not it was swept under the rug. His file is currently being held by the Superintendent himself. Of Course no reporter will ask.

A Facebook issue got him and with 4000 plus friends many being students < against policy> it finally caught up.

Tommy's house of cards is crumbling.

It's really sad that our City Government got rid of Public Access TV (ACTV. So what are we left with, government access TV only? That basically translates to propaganda with the intention of promoting political careers. It sure as hell won't translate to having City Council meetings being televised, unless the BGA gets involved that will never happen under the current Administration. It's almost funny that the City can find 7 million dollars for a vacant lot on the West Side of the River, and find a million or so to help out the LaVia's with their mortgage problem but they can't find a few more dollars to promote the long standing tradition was ACTV. Now we're going to stuck with progamming by Mayoral wanna-bes who will tout what great public servants they are. Same old bullshit.

You are now listening to the Ignoramus Channel, with your host Richard Irvin.

Today, our special guest, is a woman who we can all agree is a special type of ignorant, let's have a loud round of applause for Scheketa (who is my baby's daddy)Hart-Burns.

How much do you want to bet that there is a pilot "Government Access" TV pilot being planned with Alderman-at-Large Ricard Irvin. The show will have Mr. Irvin showcasing all the outstanding work that he has done in the Aurora Community over the years. You can expect to Dan Ferrelli and Clayton Muhammad making special guest appearances since they both have experience in public relations. I can't wait for the show when Special Guest Star Carrie Ergo shows up and gives Richard and his audience a special tour of the Mayoral Office. Mr. Irvin will have to be very careful as to not use the show to promote his private law practice. The one thing will not do is show an actual City Council meeting. We CAN'T have that sort of the thing on a "Government Access" channel. You know "The Bone Jangler" who was basically assassinated by the Irvin and Weisner would start off his show by saying this: "What the FUCK is going on". It was nice to hear other people speak in those plain working-class tone of voice. Somehow, I think the host of the Richard Irvin show will not be opening his show with such plain spoken language.

Aurora is looking more and more like Detroit. Now bankrupt and taken over by the state. Reason; black democratic socialists gained control and stole it blind along with their association with the evil unions. Democratic Socialist Senitor John Conyers' wife was involved with running the city at the same time stealing from it, all the while banking on OBAMA to bail it out, which may yet happen. Detroits once fine neighborhoods are now nothing but a pile of bricks and trash because of the Black Democrat/socialist running it. Aurora has this to look forward to in the not too distant future. Got to get my Fla drivers license today.
