Election 2013 Aurora Ward 3 - Reece Boyd Leads Efforts to Restore Independence to 3rd Ward After Years of Neglect and Taxpayer Exploitation

Aurora's "new" 3rd Ward has shifted more east, but includes areas of the east side with chronic problems of crime, density, reverse economic development and school district chaos.

The seat was previously occupied by former Alderman Stephanie Kifowit, who years ago converted into a wild spending, taxpayer exploiting, fiscally irresponsible official who used taxpayer funds to attend events and parties on her way to buying a state rep seat with help of the political mafia of Michael and Lisa Madigan.

While the seat has been vacant since December, Kifowit checked out of her responsibilities years earlier.

Reece Boyd leads field of candidates and is the only independent candidate seeking the seat.

Unfortunately, the other candidates are props of the political mafia.

Chad Feldotto is backed by State Rep Linda Chapa-LaVia, who just cost taxpayers a MILLION DOLLARS in a pizza place scheme for restaurant row.  Ted Mesiacos is a stooge and puppet of corrupt Mayor Tom Weisner.

Boyd, who is the manager of the River's Edge Cafe in downtown Aurora, doesn't have the baggage of bad habits and bad ideas of the old-guard of Aurora.  He's originally from the Detroit area and moved here less than 2 years ago, so he understands the problems of depressed, low economic development areas like the 3rd Ward and brings a fresh perspective to the situation.

Most importantly, he promises to stay independent and "do the right thing" as recently illustrated by Jay Leonardi's campaign for 4th Ward and the example of Rick Lawrence standing up for taxpayers.

How can a guy (Reese) be independent since he was put up to running by Dan Hites a developer who wants more resources pumped into the downtown?

WOW, Reese has lived here for 2 years and you say he knows what aurora needs, Well chad has lived in the 3rd ward for 12 years or so so I think he knows what the 3rd wards needs. GO CHAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can Openline please post evidence that Ted Mesiacos is a stooge and puppet of the mayor? Then perhaps I will take this blog seriously.

Uh oh. Openline's endorsement is the kiss of death. Boyd should pack it in right now.

What are you talking about, 8:25? Openline endorsed Pat Fee, didn't they?

Oh.

Reese is a pal of Rick Guzmans and will be a stooge for the Mayor. Reese goes to Community Christian Church Were the Mayor is building his East Aurora strong hold. Ted has big money behind him and Reese was put in to split the votes. openline be careful with this one

Ted has "big money behind him"? Who are some of the big donors? Care to elaborate?

Strand and Montroy have big money behind them for a non paying school board position who is behind them. They have spent over $10,000 on their campaign these are the same people that are backing up Reese Boyd with Community Christian Church. Reese looks like a nice person but because of Community Christain and Rick Guzman the jury is out. openline ask more questions

CITIZENS OF AURORA EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE. LEAVE THE BOX FOR MAYOR BLANK

Thanks 11:26--I always figured that Boyd was with that church, since they run the coffee house. They are taking over the downtown because they have money and no one else wants it. It'll be the Elks next, even though it's a huge money pit. Just one more reason to run, not walk away from downtown Aurora. The players get creepier every day. And 6:55, I'll be leaving almost all of the boxes blank.

I do not get what you guys are alluding to. What is creepy about that church? Isn't the coffee house basically a mission for that church to employ half way house type people? And is there something nefarious about them taking over the downtown? Speak plainly please.

Will Alderman Juani Garza (2nd Ward) be indited after the election? It has been an open secret that she has had several interviews with the FBI. Now the Sunday Tribune has a front page article about Washington National's mortgage scam in Aurora. They were located in Garza's ward (31 W Downer Place)and targeted primarily the Hispanic community, many in the 2nd ward, defrauding 50 some homeowners of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Before we elect an alderman who is nothing but a glorified barista, we should at least see if he can attain a two-year degree from Waubonsee before we give him a two-year term on the city council.

He would, however, be great at getting coffee for the mayor.

A mortgage company defrauding homeowners? OMG, that isn't possible. That has NEVER happened in the history of the U.S!

Is Rick insane? said...

3:43 Do you hate everyone that opens a coffee shop? I have been to that coffee house, and it is a needed asset to downtown. You want more jobs for the city, then you blast the owner of a small business. You are a vile man

COME ON RICK, DENOUNCE THIS CLOWN

He doesn't own it. Openline says he's a manager, hence the glorified barista remark. When you go vote on Tuesday, remind yourself, "this kid could could be missing council meetings for math 101 at University of Waubonsee at Sugar Grove/Aurora."

Why the double standard. The same could have been said about Jay Leonardi but wasn't and he was running for 4 years.

8:24 - well then who do you want. the two clowns that are both claiming an endorsement from the Queenetia of Corruption: Juany Garza? Both are life long government political hacks. All we need is another Bill Donnell on the city council, and both of them are 1/2 Bill Donnell. One is on the zoning/planning commission the other is park and recreation person. Gee just perfect, two more guys who believe we need more government.

1:50 - I was no supporter of Leonardi. I have mixed feeling about Rick Lawrence, but no one should ever run as a candidate touting that they are going to be the next Rick Lawrence or anyone else for that matter. True independence requires new leadership and new ideas, not carbon copy of a sitting Alderman.

Frankly, Reese Boyd came with more content for me to joke around with.

Having said that, I wish the best for Rick today. The Aurora City Council could always use a shake up and he keeps things interesting.
