Flooding Across Aurora | Residents Demand Answers for Why Millions Spent By Corrupt Mayor Tom Weisner in Flood Prevention Failed

This was not 1996, where over 17 inches of rain in 24 hours submerged Aurora for one of the worst floods in the region's history.

Instead, the 2013 flooding we've seen is with much smaller amounts and after tens of millions were spent on flood prevention, sewer separation and other steps over the years to "prevent" these problems.

Even though some areas will have flooding no matter what due to their location, residents of many other areas that have experienced flooding say this wasn't supposed to happen with this type of rainfall.

What happened?

Corrupt Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner could not be reached at his home in Florida, but other city officials have said that they will "review" the situation.

He has idiots like Ray Hull running the departments.

25 million dollars for what? A second rate concert venue for third rate acts? Well, that's okay I guess as long as the "connected" got to "wet their beaks". So what if the John C. Dunham Pavillion at RiversEdge Park is now a part of the Fox River. It's no big deal if the venue stinks of dead carp. The flood should help promote the breeding of mosquitoes. It's all good.

Maybe they'll change the name to Rivers Middle Park.

Nice to see Whitey got out to talk to the people of the 5th Ward. I wasn't sure he even knew where the 5th Ward was.

I was shocked to get one of those letters from Whitey with that corrupt PAC by the union guys and Weisner supporting O'Connor.

I didn't know Whitey was able to put sentences together in a letter.

They must have paid someone to do it for him.

Openline needs to get current. Weisner sold his house in Florida two years ago. Took a big loss due to the collapsing Florida housing market.

Ray Hull is responsible for the sewer department after all the money spent in Cherry Hills Ray forgot to clean the drains causing water to backup. Have a spine Peters and call for this Bozos resignation.

Rivers Middle Park. That has a nice ring to it. And once again I agree with my pal Al. Maybe we can get Rahm Emanuel to send a dead carp to Weisner.

It is a little surprising that the engineers did not take into account that flooding is possible when things are built next to a river.

Peters is out for Weisners head. He stated the City of Aurora did not do their job. Millions spent and the City in Cherry Hills did not clean drains. The head of the sewer department needs to be fired. They told me Raymond would call back, to date I have heard nothing. Where is Weisner, I think he needs to resign himself. Millions spent and total destruction of personal property because the City did not clean the drains from last fall.

Peters - growing a pair of balls. Please prove that. Where is this documented. Peters has been one of the most worthless douches on the City Council for years.

Peters made comments against the City in the Beacon. Refer to the article Alderman goes door to door. It shows now the growing division between Wisner and his friends. But moreover it shows the City will be sued for big bucks.

Of course the park is going to flood like that every so often. Its next to the damn river. It is an out door park. I mean really, wtf do you expect. No one said it was never going to rain. Baseball games rain out, and so do out door concerts you morons.

Baseball games rain out or flood out? The concert would not have been a rain out it would have been a flood out. Seems if you are going to build something that costs over 20 million dollars then all possible problems and solutions should have been explored. Plus no need for name calling.

Hmmm, just wondering -- is it "name calling" if you're speaking the truth? Just wonderin'.

3:27 No one can predict or spend enough money to eliminate all of the
possible disastrous scenarios.
Let's name the blog "The Corrupt Mayor Weisner" as it is included every new post on Openlineblog.commy
