Thank You Alderman Rick Lawrence for Standing Up for Taxpayers of Aurora

Rick Lawrence had his last Aurora City Council meeting on Tuesday night as 4th Ward Alderman.

After 8 years of consistently standing up for taxpayers and doing the right thing, Mr. Lawrence spoke briefly after a proclamation was read by Alderman Whitey Peters (the mayor apparently acks the courage or graciousness to have done the right thing).

Many viewers, including police, school officials and those in the 4th Ward that have relied on Rick to solve problems and improve the ward, say Rick Lawrence is the best alderman they've ever seen in Aurora.

Lawrence says he's looking forward to spending more time on his business and family, but notes that he's not going away or no longer speaking up on the key issues or future of Aurora.

Thank you Rick for proving it's possible to have elected representatives who promise to stand up for taxpayers and do the right thing...and then actually do exactly that.

Hi Rick,

Everyone knows you run this blog, your not fooling anyone!

And many people say he was the worst alderman in history. As for Weisner reading the proclamation, would Rick do that if the shoe was on the other foot? No way.

How ludicrous.
Time to come out from behind the curtain now, Rick. You have nothing left to lose, as you have already lost. And it also seems like a good time to make this blog a bit more useful. Dump the silly repeated phrases, and maybe try and do a bit more work on it.
It could actually be something useful, you know.

I was a fan of his when it came to some of the issues. I deplored his attacks on individuals, who didn't agree with him. To get things done compromise is essential. The my way or the highway attitude caught up to Rick. The voters have spoken. Good luck Rick.
I agree with 12:57 when he said,
Dump the silly repeated phrases, and maybe try and do a bit more work on it. It could actually be something useful, you know. p.s.Also, dump the idiot, who posts for you. He is a lousy writer, and he is mean spirited.

Who won the old 4th ward in the alderman at large race? From the River over to Edgelawn? Who knows?

The results are not final and it is tough to figure because the old and new precincts do not line up. But it looks like Rick won the old 4th about 60-40. He did really well north of galena and got killed west of highland.Overall though he lost the ward. He was creamed east of highland.

THANK YOU former ALDERMAN Rick Lawrence for SITTING DOWN.

Who won in what two blocks means NOTHING. Rick LOST the race. And I really think that's what he wanted, anyway.

No, the taxpaying residents of aurora who do not make money off the city are the ones who lost. And a lot of them making money off the city live in the 4th ward.

But the taxpaying public are the ones who elected O'Connor. Of the small group who went to the polls, they overwhelming voted for O'Connor. Of the larger group who didn't go to the polls, they elected O'Connor by proxy, i.e. by not voting they gave their proxy to those who DID vote.

So Rick got killed west of highland and creamed east of it yet still won the old 4th ward, huh? Man, that guy must have had lots of registered voters living in basements, garages and graveyards north of galena!

I meant east of highland one both counts.
