Coming Soon to the $163 Million Aurora Police Palace

Many of our viewers have expressed serious concern that Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner may foolishly appoint narcissist, self-promoting police so-called commander Kristen Ziman as chief to replace outgoing Chief Greg Thomas even though she lacks competence, experience and has repeatedly embarrassed him on the surge in crime, shootings and murders, including contradicting his claims of "crime is down" with "crime is up, just call it an uptick."

As much as we disagree with Mr. Weisner, we can't imagine he would appoint someone so incompetent for such an important position.

Then again, he did appoint Alayne "I hate people" Weingartz (aka Alyane Scatterday or Alayne Filarski) as the so-called corporation counsel that has cost taxpayers millions in unnecessary legal disputes.

While cops on the street say it would be a "disaster" if Kristen Ziman were appointed to replace Greg Thomas and the APD desperately needs someone from the outside and an entire new brass (sorry Joe Groom), we have learned one possible benefit of Ziman being appointed, who can drink more wine than most people can drink water, is she may finally find a good use for a part of the wasted space at the $163 million Police Palace.

Sources say the Police Palace could add a wine bar and daily happy hour if Kristen Ziman is named chief. OpenlineBlog has obtained exclusive renderings of the project.

For every shooting or murder (also known as "upticks"), there could be a drink special called the "tall one" in honor of Weisner, who is known outdrink anyone.

Former police chief Bill Powell is under consideration to manage the wine bar.

One possible benefit is the wine bar could also serve as a gathering place and charge extra for drinks for other "retired" public officials who are getting six-figure luxury pensions.

Although the wine bar could fit in the current wasted space at the Police Palace, we understand Cordogan Clark and Wegman Construction have already been "coincidentally" selected for any contracts to design, renovate or add new space for a guaranteed maximum price of $5 million, subject to any future increase to be named later (that's how it works in Aurora).

Can't imagine the Weisner administration would invest millions of taxpayer funds for a bar? Heard of Ballydoyle?

Carie Ergo, the overpaid chief of staff for the mayor, admitted to a source she's not a big fan of Kristen Ziman after she learned Ziman and sidekick Chris Tunney, another incompetent and inexperienced cop, were making extreme fun of both Weisner and Ergo at a high-profile event but confirmed mayoral appointments in Aurora under Weisner have never been about competence or best interests of taxpayers so Ziman fits that profile.

"Everyone knows the only reason Kristen Ziman has been promoted up the ranks is because she's blonde, a woman and her open, public sexual preferences. No serious or smart law enforcement leader would ever promote someone like her past a patrol cop, let alone a commander. There are many existing cops in Aurora with more competence or experience that have been bypassed for Kristen Ziman" said a current street cop.

So, it looks like we will be seeing the wine bar open soon. With an endless stream of upticks, we will have much to celebrate.

Note: Kristen Ziman currently makes over $160,000 in salary and benefits to sit atop the police palace, not including her side scheme called "Blue Courage" with another former "retired" cop Michael Nila to exploit taxpayers across the nation.

Are you sure about that bar manager? I heard it was going to be the DeLeon family. They need to keep up their record of taxpayer exploitation.

If the 163 Million price tag is correct, then Leopardo Construction from Hoffman Estates did 90% of that project.

Bill Powell, that's a blast from my past. They were too scared to fire him when he came to work drunk everyday. He's a good choice for bartender, but may drink away the profits.

I don't know Kristen Ziman but I did work with her father. I believe he had a big scandal.

I've heard many talk about Joe Groom at Turners. He is thought of as arrogant and was part of a sexual harassment law suit that cost the police big money.

I guess the mayor should appoint a parrot as chief, it's been done before.

That Nila guy was a real treat. He sued the city and got his promotion. Claimed to be Hawaiian until he suddenly said he was bypassed for promotion because he was Hispanic. Didn't know he was still in police business.

Look up Kjendal-Olsen in Beacon archives from the 80s or 90s. I remember there being money missing from the police department.

I asked a few old time cops at the club. They said there was a big scandal about stealing money from the jail back in the late 1980's. Hope it doesn't run in the family.

Who's going to be in charge of the selection process? The HR Department at City Hall? The Mayor's Office?

Our liberal mayor appointed the last chief to get the first black chief now he will try to try to appoint the first female. He doesn't care about qualifications just politics.

A few cops said they believe it will be Joe Groom because the mayor likes the Groom family and he hired 5 other Grooms to work at the police department. They also believe that half the department will quit if he is chief. Just from what I was hearing apparently he is not liked.

I almost forgot. Cops really talk when they drink. They also said that Kristen Ziman and Kristen Tunny both work side jobs at Dunham company. When do they work for the tax payers with all this side activity. I'm really pissed, my taxes go up for that.

If half the police department really quits, then they could hire more Grooms

You mean hire more DeLeon's.

How many DeLeon family members work for the City?

Anonymous said...

There's a jillion of them. Like Chicago's City Hall.

Who is Deleon?

Look him up in the Illinois Better Government Association's definitional handbook. You'll see his picture next to "nepotism." He's also in the BGA Nepotism Hall of Fame.

Also clown and jackass.

I'm looking forward to getting the real scoop from my cop friends at thirsty Thursday. The Police and Fire Chief are important positions and citizens should have a say so.

It seems that the nepotism hall of fame and the national sex hall of fame are already at that new police station. The new Vegas just needs a hotel.
