War on Cops?

Aurora Crony Cop Kristen Ziman recently (and irresponsibly) claimed there is a nationwide war on cops.

While crime, shootings and murders have skyrocketed in Aurora since the publicity spree for a temporary "zero murder" stat and police bonus scheme, 2015 is the second safest year for police across the United States since 1887.

We need a true leader for the Aurora Police Department, not a chronic misleader like Kristen Ziman.

The only way to build trust between the police and community is to be honest about stats and facts, not what we have seen in Aurora with schemes and spin.

Maybe Kristen needs to spend more time working on the streets preventing crime to earn her $165,000 salary instead of sitting atop the police palace taking selfies drinking yet another glass of wine.

You seem to have strong opinions, why don't you put your name on a ballot? Unless you have in the past...

They'll put their name on a ballot about the same time they'll put it on their blog and take responsibility for their lies.

Never.

That graph only shows firearm related police deaths. Police die by other means. So far there have been 98 law enforcement line of duty deaths in the US in 2015.https://www.odmp.org/search/year

Cops have a dangerous job. I read all the previous blogs and if true at all, there are many problems at the police department, from nepotism, sexism, politics from city hall. I believe that there should not be family members or love interests working at the same place. There must be an outside search for a chief, as there seems to be just be too much drama and politics within. Tax payers must demand competent leadership and accountability.

I'm looking forward to getting the real scoop from my cop friends at thirsty Thursday. The Police and Fire Chief are important positions and citizens should have a say so.

$165000 that's crazy!!!! Is there really a roof top wine bar at that ugly police station. My god it is a huge building.

I heard there is a balcony with a grill on the back that you can't see from the street.

There probably is a steam room and a hot tub somewhere in that place.

First of all, according to the BLS cops do not even rate in the top 10 of dangerous occupations. Fishermen, Loggers. pilots. farmers, ranchers. miners. roofers. garbage men, drivers. machine repair men all have higher rates of occupational related death.

Secondly, as a tax payer I cheer every time we side step a full pension payout be it for a mayor, alderman, teacher, fireman, cop, or office worker. There is not a single government employee in IL who is worth the total cost of their compensation package.
