Warriors, A Reality Check

One of the big complaints we've heard from viewers about Crony Cop Kristen Ziman is how she portrays herself as a "warrior" while sitting atop the $163 million Aurora Police Palace, drinking wine while real cops deal with crime on the streets. As one veteran told us "the only warriors are those that went to war." Here is one of them coming back from an Honor Flight.

If Kristen Ziman wants to fantasize about being a warrior while hiding under a fancy desk, we can't stop her and frankly prefer her there so she doesn't screw up someone's life on the street but we together can make sure isn't allowed to disrespect the true warriors and heroes among us.

My wife and I went to the club last night. We asked questions and heard a lot of talk. I believe most of the people there were police officers at one time or current. Most said Ziman rose up the ranks by befriending powerful people in the police department and having parties. I think everybody had interesting things to say about a Joe Groom. They said he aligned himself with powerful people in the department that were bullies themselves and modeled his style after them.
Everybody said neither police chief candidate worked on the street, they were always given choice positions.
What was real disturbing was hearing that if one candidate is chosen then half the department leaders will change and the same for the other, except they said one is evil and one is good. But both are only out to take care of family and friends.
I am now convinced that a change of leadership must be from the outside of the department.

I served two tours in Iraq. I see all the comments about warriors. Did any of the Police Chief candidates serve in the military. If not they should just shut up and push papers and drink wine.

How many living retired Aurora police chiefs are there? What are their pensions and how old were they when they retired from the force?

My God! I love police but that place sounds insane. There must be something done to correct the bizarre activities and the practice of hiring family members without regard for qualifications, it is my tax money and yours.

I read about all the side jobs and have to wonder where is their dedication to the citizens of Aurora? Nobody can perform their best at a position if they are preparing for a side job. Plus, if everyday is a family reunion at work, who is patrolling our streets? Is that is why murders are so high? WTF is our elected Mayor doing about the brothel like activities there? I want change before my next tax bill is paid. Hopefully the US Attorney will investigate.

Hey 9:23 I agree. I bet the mayor can find more groome's to hire.

I recently heard about this Blog and I just finished reading all the posts. All I can say is MY GOD. If any of the posts about the police department are true then we're all in trouble. I thought that was a totally honorable position, I still believe it is myself. But, what is going on there and who is in charge. I'll keep reading the posts from my winter home in Florida.

Take me with 5:06 Please. You should go back through old blog headings, you have not read nothing yet.

I hope Dolan wins the mayor election, I believe he will stop the nepotism in the city.

Maybe Mayor Dolan can get some real stores and restaurants downtown.

Dolan wants a job at city hall and was told no so now he want to move to Aurora and run for mayor. What a ass hole!

Where's this nepotism in Aurora? Police Department? City Hall? Other places?

5:06 that's a big if. In the words of Ronald Reagan "trust but verify". Don't believe anything on this blog until you've verified it.

I read all of the BLOGS and then asked several good friends at the club that happen to be cops. They tell some stories and I believe them. I don't know about the entire city yet, but there are at least 5 members of one family and three from another at the police building. One family has a father, son and wife and 2 or 3 kids there. Another has a husband an ex-wife and mistress and a girlfriend.

Any other family favoritism at City Hall or at other departments? What are the people running for Mayor going to do about it?

Normally the more family members in a business is a good thing. But the police and other agencies are public and should not be a life time employment agency for several families. I believe nothing good can happen and many other good people don't get an opportunity.
I don't think any mayor will care about hiring because they are to far removed from the process. I also think there should be a temporary chief until the new mayor can pick a chief.

Too far removed from the process? You must be from an alternative universe.

1. Where can I get a list of names for the police department.
2. What club has all that action and can someone get me in to ask my own questions.
3. Any mayor knows exactly who is being hired. race, gender, sexual pref. etc. they are all political.

Thank you

Kristen Ziman uses this "warrior" term all the time.

The only reason Kristen is a "commander" is because of personal issues, not because she is the best qualified or experienced.
