Aurora Corrupt Cop Kristen Ziman Violates Law on Deputy Chief Choice

Aurora Corrupt Cop Kristen Ziman, who never earned the position of chief and rose at the Aurora Police Department (APD) based solely on gender, sexuality, corruption over competence, has demanded the return of the position of deputy chief.

She has chosen Keefe Jackson. Under normal circumstances, the logic she claims in selecting him could have been used on why he would be a better choice for chief over her.

In fact, all the command staff are more competent than Kristen, who is only competent at corruption, dishonesty and self-promotion.

This is not about Keefe Jackson. We assume he is a better person and cop than Kristen could ever dream to become.

We spoke to multiple law enforcement experts in other police departments and not a single person says it's a good idea to have a deputy police chief after previously eliminating it.

"There's really no need unless you also are eliminating commander positions as well" said a northwest suburban police chief.

"It's like being VP. You are either a figurehead or it's because the person at the top isn't able to do the job" said another.

In fact, this city under Chief Greg Thomas eliminated the deputy chief because it was a "waste."

According to the International Association of Police Chiefs, "innovative police departments flatten ranks and structure" not add a layer back.

And, if there is extra money for anything, why wouldn't we be adding a cop to work the streets in "uptick city"  instead of sitting atop the police palace?

Didn't anyone noticed the crime, including the latest murder, stabbing and shootings?

Is it simply because corrupt Kristen Ziman needs someone to do the work while she goes AWOL on her junkets?

What exactly is the justification, purpose and cost to have a deputy chief?

And, even if we blindly follow Kristen's wish and take a giant step backward by having a deputy chief position, what happened to following the law?

According to that law, the police chief can only appoint a deputy chief from a then-current commander.

The only other current commander is Paul Nelson since Joe Groom died.

Nobody else is eligible to be deputy chief according to ordinance.

The law:

Are we going to just ignore the law when it comes to the police like we do with corruption in Aurora?

Really?

Do we just change the rules and law to accommodate corrupt Kristen Ziman's ego?

Or do we follow the law, if not the common sense, used by Greg Thomas?

Sorry Kristen, you are asking this city to violate the law. It's one of your bad habits and rotten excuses for not being able to do your job.

If you need a deputy chief to handle things while you run away to play, you should ask Paul Nelson.

Remember him? He's the one Greg Thomas made interim chief when he left, not you.

So what is the big deal. She picked commander Jackson instead of commander Nelson.

Hey!!

The city could have picked that blue freaky suit dude Alfrado as the Deputy Chief

I prefer Deleon or Kjendall followed closely by the pumpkin head. My sources are from a pole of customers on restaurant row. My sample size was 3

Jackson is only a Lieutenant, not a Commander. This should be looked into. But, like always, they will sidestep it with some lane excuse. The Big Shots there do as they please anyway, always have, always will. Maybe Nelson didn't want the position.

A wasted position but what else is new? Chief Thomas flattened out the command staff and it ought to stay that way. I expect City employees who are making >$160,000 in taxpayer money and who already have three commanders under them to be competent enough to not need some deputy director. If they can't handle it, get a new Chief.

If that law was broken then the Attorney General needs to be called. Whoever is running the civil service needs to be fired. The city attorney needs to be fired. There should be an injunction filed by the tax payers, it is our money being wasted by an already proven useless position.

What irony: A law enforcement agency intentionally breaking the law. I guess I live in Weisner's version of Chicago.

and here we go again- LIE LIE LIE! Love you incessant obsession with Chief Ziman-
I hope she is smart enough to get a restraining order against you- you are seriously crazy

OLB- if you are so obsessed- why didn't you go to city to council to block the changing of the ordinance? If you are so in touch about the rank in file then you would know how we all feel about Paul Nelson. If you cared about us at all you would never suggest he be placed into the chief or dc spot.

Put down the fuckin wine bottles and stop the murders

Lets analyze the situation at hand the old chief eliminated the assistant chief because it was a waste of my tax dollars ($8,726). The crime was the lowest and police got a bonus. Things must have worked well. Why change now? It seems to be more of the mayor's social engineering at work.

Clever, openline. Deliberately post a link to the OLD version of the ordinance, knowing full well the CURRENT law says the deputy chief comes from a Commander OR LIEUTENANT. The law wasn't broken, it was changed by the City Council.

But it's still a useless position.

The newest update says that it can come from commander, lieutenant or dumb puppet

The APD has as many wasteful layers of management as the peacetime US Army

I don't know about a City Ordinance but at one time in the Lietenants and at that time Captains the rank of Deputy Chief had to be filled by a person of Captain's rank.
You do need to look at Civil Service, many City Hall positions being filled by passing Civil Service saying there are no tests available for certain positions and not having Eligibility Lists to hire from. PATRONAGE is back, big time.
Tom can't get rid of Civil Service without a city wide vote. It was voted in by a referdeum and has to be voted out by refedeum. Keep your eye on the hires see if they were hired through Civil Service or just given job by the Mayor.

this city is as corrupt as Chicago or Washington. Al Sharpton will be the next mayor

The new city motto: Give us your tired, dumb, relatives, give us Kjendells, Deans, Zimann's Groomes, Pierces, Tunnies, Deleons, Dunhams, give us your unwanted illegal immigrants, homeless, refuggees, we will hug them, coddle them and provide for them with your money.

Second to none

How about that proactive police work by Aurora's finest last weekend. They knew that family restaurant on New York was having an event promoted by a guy who attracted rival gang members (it's a Latin King Chuck E Cheese). Yet at closing time, there was no police presence? What are we paying Chief Kristen and her band of merry men for? Gross incompetence? Amusement?

This could have been prevented. Great publicity for getting the next eatery on restaurant row.

I hope that comment by 8:15 is not true, all of us TAX PAYERS could be liable to pay for the murders and damage from the gang fight if they really didn't do anything. I'm sure black lives matter is driving to Aurora already.

According to the Beacon article, "police arrived early Jan. 23 to find about 100 people shouting and fighting in the parking lot next to the restaurant". So sounds like they weren't already there. If they knew enough to send a letter (to the wrong lawyer; you'd think they'd have sent a copy to the restaurant owner too), they knew enough to have some police there around closing time.

A preventable death of a human being is deeply troubling to me. I will pray for the young mans soul.

As a taxpayer, we'd be better served by having the Police Chief and her Commanders working from 7:00 pm until 3:00 am every weekend. Enough of leaving the Police Station at 3:00 pm on Friday and refusing to answer their cell phones until Monday.

I workout around 4 Aurora cops at LA Fitness. I am surprised to hear that the regular officers are on their own all weekend, because the police bosses are all off and that the gang police, I believe called special operators, go home at 10pm and have weekends off. Does this happen in Chicago or other big cities with gang violence. I will stay in Plainfield and only come through Aurora in the daytime.
I'm just a warehouse worker, Police have a tough job from the stories I have heard.
