Did Aurora Corrupt Mayor Tom Weisner and Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen Make a Backroom Deal?

Former Illinois state senator and current Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen was all set to run against corrupt Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner in the last election until a backroom deal was reached to allow the political opposites and enemies to support each other.

Lauzen and Weisner share a common key supporter in Dick Hawks, aka "The Penguin" who brokered the deal along with Bob Vaughan, boss of the political mafia.

And now, Tom Weisner's house displays a yard sign for Chris Lauzen.

Any questions?

Probably donated United Way money

The same Bob Vaughan who was paid $454,850 for his last year of employment by the Fox Valley Park District? The same guy who has a $188,000 pension paid by you and me? $450,000 for a Parks Director? We had no idea that running fishing derbies and scheduling exercise class was so important. Can you say extreme pension abuse?

The same Park District that paid Steve Messerli $376,493 for his last year of work so he could snag a pension of $180,000. Must be nice to award luxury salaries and pensions with OPM

Oh, com'n now, those bloated salaries and pensions at 55 are all about recreational opportunities for the children.

Please note that sign is illegally placed. It is shameful how the Lauzen's and every other candidate has violated municipal law regarding sign placement.

Interesting Openline. Any proof? I talked to Chris about running for Mayor years ago and he revealed several plans he had in mind (a Real Estate Syndication, College Professor, Kane County Board) and he expressed no interest in running for Mayor (after he thought it over).

So here is a more probing question, why did Rick Lawrence decide not to run an actual campaign against O'Connor for Alderman-At-Large?

Rick did not even go through the motions. Why?

Have any of those Park Board members worked for a living in business? It looks Iike they've all been in government, not for profits or unions. People with these jobs don't get luxurious pensions in the private world so it's no wonder that all three former Parks Directors left while in their mid 50's to padded pensions some of which were over $160,000. Tax dollars should not be funding this.

Rick - why don't you answer the question?

Does Pilmer still have that Park District job he never deserved?

Did Alex Alexandrou get off the Board so he can be the Personnel Director for Fox Valley Parks?

10:06 pm - don't you love the sound of crickets?

If Alex leaves the Board, Team Lauzen can appoint none other than Dick Hawks. That would leave an opening for his morning desk job at the Vaughn Center welcome desk. Can you believe that this guy has a part-time job paid for by the taxpayers? With all of his money can you believe that the Park District even hired him? Who was behind that move? I guess those geniuses on Illinois Av couldn't find anybody who needed that job to help feed a family. Hawk's Bentley must guzzle lots of gas and his vacation homes must have tax rates as bad as Aurora's. Just make sure his desk job goes to another impoverished good old boy. Politics at its best at the crony infested Park District!

What's Weisner's address?
