Aurora Police Have Zero Body Cams Due to Allergy to Accountability, But What If...
As many of our viewers already know, the Aurora Police Department under Corrupt Cop Kristen Ziman and Corrupt Mayor Tom Weisner have a total of ZERO body cams for cops.
For a city that dumped $165 million into building the Aurora Police Palace, rewarding cronies and the corrupt political mafia, it's not because of affordability.
Kristen Ziman and Tom Weisner do not want cameras because it leads to accountability, something both are extremely allergic to. Weisner has prevented the broadcast of city council meetings as well because you may see the wild spending for yourself.
However, even IF body cams were allowed in Aurora, that isn't enough.
Some police departments have absurd policies around video, allowing only what they want the public to see or a skewed version of events. Some allow cops to review the video before making their statements.
Body cams should be worn by ALL sworn police officers, starting with the upper brass, including the current corrupt chief.
That video should be available to anyone for any reason at anytime, unless there is a specific criminal investigation pending that a judge orders video to be held for a temporary period.
Cops should never be allowed to view body cam video unless they have first made their statements.
Most importantly, body cams will help differentiate between the good cops and bad cops.
The nonstop examples of bad cops on video is not because cops have suddenly got worse, but rather it's because citizens are taking video with or without body cams.
Body cams would protect good cops from false allegations, but it would also make it much harder for bad cops to exist.
Aurora will remain backward for now, but eventually, they will be forced to hit the record button.
